Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. I want to hear your horror stories. What aspects of Doll maintinance do you just hate!

      I hate drawing doll lashes

      and lets not forget stringing!! They are always SO floppy!!!

    3. Lower eye-lashes!! I can do everything about a face-up decently, except for the irritating lower lashes.
      I also hate sueding; though I'm rather good at it, it just takes so much time!!
      And also re-stringing, the one leg always ends up tighter than the other, and the string is always either too tight or too loose.

    6. When your doll is too loose so you tighten the string and halfway through restringing you realize it's TOO tight now... I hate that moment.

    7. Re-stringing is hands down my most loathed bit of doll maintenance. Painting lower lashes is very hard, and gluing in lashes is annoying, but neither of these tasks can actually hurt me. My EID lady has drawn blood while I was trying to re-string her. So yes, I just HATE re-stringing.

    9. I'm with everyone else on restringing. Definitely became my least favorite thing to do when I had a Mecha Angel torso snap down on my thumb. At first I thought it was just a hell of a pinch, but then I started bleeding under the skin... Ugh. I always have trouble getting even tension too, but it's probably because I restring in fear since the Mecha Angel attack. :sigh

    12. When your re-stringing and then for the life of you, you just can't tug that elastic hard enough to get the last appendage on! Be it foot, hand...

      I don't mind re-stringing it's almost relaxing but it's the last part that drives me up the wall! >A<

      And cleaning my doll off after an outing.

    15. The worst one for me is drawing the eyebrows because I can never get them to be even. After staring at the face for so long to get them just right, I just can't tell what I'm looking at anymore! And adjusting eyes is the same way sometimes, especially if the pair doesn't fit inside the eye well just perfectly. As well as removing paint from some of my dolls that have really deep lips, ears, or nostrils. I also don't like re-stringing because I can never seem to get it right.

    16. Re-stringing the doll is a capital P to the I the T to the A and I literally mean it! All sorts of colorful language comes from me when I have to do this, but re-stringing tiny dolls are the worst ever!

    18. What I really dislike is painting lower-lashes and eyebrows... I can't count how many faceups I've scrubbed 'cause continually wiping the spot and painting them again and again leaves smudges or eventually takes off the sealant! (&#9583;°&#9633;°&#65289;&#9583;&#65077; &#9531;&#9473;&#9473;&#9531;
      While not entirely 'maintenance' related, I also hate it when my sewing machine eats the outfit I've been working on for the past 8 hours, cause all of a sudden it likes the taste of sleeves... D:<

    19. Yup, restringing really is a pain in the posterior. I dislike doing face-ups as well, because I just don't have the patience to practice and so I never get the eyebrows and lower lashes to look decent enough.

    20. Gluing eyelashes. :X Oh how I purely do hate gluing the eyelashes. If one of them droops even 1 mm lower than the other, you get that stroke-victim look, which drives me utterly window-punching puppy-kicking bullet-chewing batshit. I can do it myself, I even have the sexy professional offset tweezers for it, but it still takes a lot of swearing and a shot of rum. I prefer to outsource whenever possible-- I am not a proud woman, and will readily bribe my friends to do it for me.
