Doll TV Show

Sep 12, 2010

1. I was poking around DannyChoo.com and found out about a show in Japan in which BJD's are used like puppets and act out several stories. It's called Doll Variety, here's a clip:

The voice acting's really wonderful and the cinematography is really amazing <3

So that made me wonder, if there are BJD shows like this, what else is out there and what may come? It looks like they advertise the dolls used in the show, great idea or what? :D

2. That was really great! I was really impressed by the puppeteering.

3. http://www.v-doll.jp/pc.html

Here's the website for these dolls. The heads are made by Studio Wiz and the bodies are Obitsu, actually. There's a whole movie for these dolls. :)

4. It's like anime, with BJD's! How fun!

5. How interesting! The puppeteering was quite good, I was surprised! :)

Obitsu bodies, you say? Hmmm! *checks out the link*

6. aw~ thats amazing:aheartbea and its really good made! kinda reminds me of the "augsburger puppenkiste" though XD

and the guy sounds like kanda from d.gray-man (its not him, but i love that voice):D

7. Aaahaha, the seiyuu for the girl is Mugi-chan from K-on! :D
I understand some Japanese and uh O__O it's funny... in a slightly weird way. Like a soft-core Ecchi anime... with dolls.

Anyways, I figured they were something like Obitsu... A true resin-and-elastic doll probably wouldn't be able to move that way with just sticks and stuff... Kind of like how someone made a dancing BJD animatronic using an Obitsu body.

8. I am amused. This is really quite entertaining! I love the pupeteering, especially the breathing.

XD That dialogue...

9. Haha, that's so cool! There are all kinds of neat little BJD things out there. Like the BJD band, "Mistula". You can look them up on wikipedia and some of their videos are on youtube.

10. Whose the voice actor for the guy, I REALLY recognise it and it's making me scream! xD

11. I thought they were obitsu, since the boy's head looks a lot like Henzel. Never heard of studio Wiz before, but their heads are very much in Obitsu's style. Maybe it's the independent studio of the artist obistu uses to sculpt their dolls? I wouldn't be suprised ^^ wonder if those heads are avliable for sale seperatley?

12. Hm, I wonder if we can get the series on DVD, here in the states? Anyone know?

13. OMFG <333 That was deeply weird but so cute.

14. Awwww that was fun, I have NO clue what the story was all about but I loved the puppetering!

15. Well, I found the official site for the show and the boy doll, Yuuto, is voiced by Yuuki Kaji. ^^

16. These are Obitsu dolls through and through. The body is supported by a stick that replaces the neck connector piece, and the arms are manipulated by two other sticks. It's basically turning Obitsu dolls into Bunraku puppets. As a person owned by two Obitsus (and a Dollfie Dream and a Mini Dollfie Dream) I must say I approve.

17. Oh my gosh, I loved that! Thanks so much for posting. The voice actors were amazing and I loved the puppeteering. My Japanese is not nearly good enough to understand what they're saying, though. Still, I loved watching it.

18. Wow, that was a very neat show, it's very well done. I wonder if there's more like it? :)

19. That was so beautifully strange *laughs*
I...kinda want to buy the girl's head now...

20. Attacked by killer mousies! Those daffy writers will do anything for an excuse to go up a girl's dress.

Even without knowing what they're saying I can sure tell that script is more than a lil'bit saucy. ^^ But this is really well done. It's definitely a hook! I'd have watched the rest-- now that She has escaped, how shall He spend the rest of the night? What are His & Her stories? How'd they get put in that well? Who'd they piss off? and so on.

And the puppeteering is wonderful, especially the way they did the breathing effects.
