1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollheart Fukubukuro Thoughts?

Apr 27, 2015

    1. Hi! I just wanted to make a general thread about this. I've read all of the threads for the 2014 Fukubukuro event, including the waiting room & swap threads.

I wanted to get a feel for how people felt about the value of the items in the Fukubukuro bags, as I'm considering getting some for my dolls. There seems to be some disagreement about whether or not the bags are worth it -- and the quality of the items, especially over time. People seemed really ecstatic about them early on, but then it seemed like the value wasn't as good after awhile? Mostly because people kept getting hats & accessories instead of clothing.

How do you feel about it? And what have you gotten in the past that you were happy or unhappy about? :) Pictures very very welcome, especially if you haven't posted already!

    2. Well, maybe I got lucky but I ordered two Fukubukuros late last year (or early this year, don't remember exactly) and each one (one for DDy, one for SD13 boy) contained enough clothes for a full outfit.

    3. Ooh! Did you post any pictures of yours? I have never bought one before...and even though it's supposed to be a good deal, it's still a lot of money, haha.

    4. I've seen them, but for the price of them, I can't justify it for MY household. Just my personal thoughts but for what they charge for mystery items, I can buy fabric and make what I want knowing it'll fit my dolls exactly how I tailored them. Especially if those mystery items are hats or other accessories I could hunt down locally for dirt cheap. (My MSD boy's fedora was 99 cents at Michael's, my girls other fancy hats were on clearance because they were new years clip on hats that I gutted out. 20 dollar look for under a dollar price tag.)

    5. I've found them to be a mixed bag (no pun intended). If you buy early on in the event, you usually have better luck and are less likely to get "leftovers". However, I have gotten the impression in the past couple of years that Dollheart might be throwing in stuff that didn't quite meet quality standards.

Some of the wigs I've gotten have looked a little rough and the last 2 pairs of shoes I got were definitely not top quality - out of the bag, a pair of boots had a bad zipper and a pair of platform heels I got started to peel apart between the insole and platform after my girl wore them for a day (and she wasn't doing a whole lot of walking lol). I might just be unlucky in the shoe department, ymmv. The clothes have overall been pretty good, sometimes you get some weird pieces, but that's part of the fun. Really, the enjoyment comes from the surprise and anticipation ^^

    6. I know what you mean Arashi. I've resisted all these years because I don't really know how much of a deal they were, you know? But I finally caved and decided to try it, because there is some good stuff.

Neonraver! Do you have any pictures of what you got, curiously? I ordered one bag, in the hopes that I get something....decent. ;u; I do agree that part of the fun is the anticipation and surprise.

    7. I've only bought one Fukubukuro and I was pretty pleased with what I received. I got a full outfit, wig, hat and shoes. Unfortunately the shoes are way to big for any of my dolls feet or maybe I have to buy dolls with bigger feet

The quality of the items I received, overall, was very good. I plan on purchasing another in the next event.

    8. What did you get Prince Monochrome? :) Did you ever post pictures?

    9. Hey to each their own. Wish ya luck with yours. Me, I'll stick to what works for me and my crew. XD

    10. They are AWESOME when you don't get scammed.

I bought a set on ebay. They had the "dollheart USA" vendor supply the bags instead of shipping from Hong Kong. I also bought directly from "Dollheart USA". During both those years, Dollheart USA scammed me and other buyers. They took the cloth bags (kept them), and took out about 1/3 of they items. I assume they created additional bags from the stuff they took from those bags. Ms. Cholong gave me a $30 coupon for her shop (even though I was scammed out of more than that), but I was never able to redeem before she closed her shop. Ms. Cholong said it was a "new employee" that stole out the items, but that can't be true for more than one year.

I complained to Dollheart when I received the skimpy ebay fukuburo bags but Dollheart HK didn't try to make it up to me.

Since then, Dollheart (official dollheart) has parted ways from Dollheart USA/Ms. Cholong, and the latter has gone out of business. If she re-opened under a different website name I don't know.

Also keep in mind that Dollheart is recently under new management so I am going to look at reviews before buying more bags.

    11. Oh woww. I'm super sorry to hear that that happened. :( I know that some people had less items in their bags and such....what did your bags come with when that happened?

And what! When did DH change management?

    12. They were skimpy. Came with a wig or shoes but not both, and obviously missing other items too. They did not come in the standard cloth sacks, but came wrapped like a candy in some material. I am worried Ms. Cholong or her people opened under a new shop name so have been wary of that.

DH changed management earlier this year. See: https://www.facebook.com/DollHeart.HK/posts/10152755223605954

    13. I ordered 3 bags one 70cm and 2 SD13 and got wonderful items, no wigs but each one had a hat. 2 had a pair of boots. I ordered them directly from Dollheart. I read somewhere that DDE said your were only supposed to get 5 items in a bag but I got 7-9 items in each of my bags.
This is what came in my 70cm bag.

This is my two SD bags

I would definitely get them straight from the company and get them early.

    14. I've heard that the 70cm bags were really good. I did end up ordering really late and through MoC, but I've heard very good things about MoC, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;u;

Luvpetdoll, I'm super sorry to hear what you went through. That sounds so stressful.

    15. I loved the goodies I got from my Fukubukuro.... But I bought mine back in the day, probably almost ten years ago now! Like when they first started.

I know this is more of a review thread, but I've been out of the loop for a long time and would love to ask a dumb noob question: are they available only during holiday periods, or can you get them now? I looked but couldn't find them. As a proud child of the eighties, I'll admit that I'm a total sucker for grab bags and would love to try my luck on a couple. :)

    16. They are usually listed under special sales but they aren't there "yet?" If thye are listed elsewhere, please let me know.

    17. They are being sold by Mint on Card. They have a few shoe grab bags left, but they have some of the other ones in stock too.

On the right hand menu of MoC's main site --- > BJD Clothing ---> Dollheart or BJD Shoes ----> Dollheart, and you should find both the regular fukubukuros and the shoe fukubukuro.

    18. 5 items from DDE but 7-9 items from Dollheart directly? Doesn't that kind of sound like DDE were REMOVING stuff from these bags?

    19. I have no idea what the situation was, but according to MoC, MoC gets their bags stocked with items directly from DH HK. And then they check to make sure the appropriate items are in it (a full outfit set comprised of random items). There were scammers who were cheating people out of their money, so each bag actually has a serial number that lets the dealers know what's supposed to be in it from DH HK. MoC says that if we encounter any scammers again or in the future, we should report them to MoC and MoC can let DH HK know.

    20. @orangediscord

I didn't take any pictures of what I go but I can take a picture of it hopefully sometime tomorrow.

      Edit:
I just took a quick picture right now with my phone camera. Sorry for the bad lighting. I also couldn't find the waist piece but it's in my doll drawers somewhere.

So, pretty much, I got a neck bow, white shirt, pants, jacket, vest, hat, black and white wig, waist band, and shoes. The shoes look really nice but they're too big for any of my dolls.
