1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dolls and Fumigation.....?

Jan 10, 2014

    1. Ok, I know this is going to be probably one of the most strangest questions on this forum, but it is a matter of some ergency.

      Dolls... and pesticides!!!

(No I don't want to coat my dolls in them :P)

We are in our dead of summer and need to set off some bug bombs for infestation.

I have all my dolls displayed on the shelf and I am concerned about the smoke/dust/spray what ever it is that is in these cans getting onto the dolls. Has anyone had to deal with this before in this nature?

I guess what I am asking here is... should I pack them all away, cover them with a towel or sheet... or will they be safe where they are?

      We fumigate tomorrow... HELP~! :/

    2. Some of those chemicals are pretty nasty, and they do tend to settle on surfaces in the house... Just to be safe, I'd either completely cover them, or even move the dolls to another location, while the bug-bombs are in use.

    3. My thoughts as well..... Because it is the entire house being done.... and all cupboards need to be left open.... I'm thinking of either covering them.... or boxing them up... :/

    4. Box them up and take them completely out of the house.

The chemicals themselves are very nasty and poisonous. You will note they tell you to seal up any food, and wash all pans and dishes afterwards, if you read the whole thing. They also tell you to remove all pets, including fish.

Aside from the chemicals being nasty, sticky, and will coat your dolls, there is a good chance they will react with the resin and yellow or otherwise discolor your dolls.

    5. Thanks for the advice, I'm definitely going to take them out with me tomorrow.... doing on a picnic with hubby to the whispering wall :) photo opportunity me thinks
