    1. Dolls, Dolls and more Dolls.
With dolls come their facial features which is probably the most important feature to look at when picking a doll.

Now I haven't gotten a bjd yet but I find myself looking at dolls with mellow faces like a Migidoll Miho rather than that of a Soulldoll Juhl. My question to you is: do you prefer dolls with softer features or sharper features? and why? :)

    2. I think my tastes in dolls changed from more kinda soft faced dolls to ones with more unique faces...so I guess I like odd features in dolls more than a doll that sort of looks more all-round pretty.

    3. Voted sharper only because I have plenty of softer-featured and neutral featured dolls.

Actually--I like a VARIETY!!! Why have it all one way? Neutral and softer are good for a wider range... If I were only buying a few dolls that I wanted to style and use in a whole lot of different ways, then I'd go more neutral. If I wanted a sweet character, then softer. But sometimes you want MORE character than that in a face... That "more" can be difficult for a doll company to figure out, but these days, the more distinct your doll is, the better, I think. There are already a lot of neutral and softer dolls available, so the sharper ones might appeal to people who want something different.

    4. I get what you mean April. I've surfed the dA and there are a lot of neutral and softer looking dolls but the unique ones are starting to come through. I think the problem with have a unique doll is that there is a greater chance of the doll looking more odd than unique

    5. I prefer dolls with distinctive features and realistic asymmetry. The ones with perfect, expressionless faces look off to me (probably the uncanny valley effect). Not sure if this is what you meant by sharper features, but I voted for that.

    6. Softer faces for me, for sure. 4/6 of my collection are cute little girl MSD sculpts (even if my Leeke Mabel is a boy XD) and my SD is a Migidoll, mentioned above as on the softer end. I think the strongest-featured doll is gonna be my Iplehouse Luna who's in the mail. I can't wait to see her in person. X3

    7. In general I prefer softer or more neutral faces. They just seem easier to work with for me. There are a couple characters that need a sharper face, but mostly neutral does it.

    8. I'm a little confused on what you mean by softer/sharper/neutral features... "neutral" in particular. I'm going to say "soft" features are like the more stylized, kid-type dolls, and the "sharper" features are from EIDs? And "neutral" falls somewhere in between?
As for me, I like a soft-featured but realistic face... something that looks smooth but has a few distinguishing features to it, like a Narae or Elfdoll. I'm guessing that's what OP means?

OH WAIT I GET IT NOW. I like dolls that have an expression somewhere between mellow and sharp. I like strong personalities, but imo my dolls ought to be approachable as well. I don't want a "dead fish" doll, but I don't want one that says "arrrgh stay away or I'll bite your ear off!" either. xD

    9. I like softer features in that I like more rounded, feminine faces, but I also like it when a sculpt has unique features that make it stand out. Like, I would classify a DiM Laia as "soft", but it still has the dramatic, narrowed eyes and the full lips that make it different from say, a Volks SD girl, which I would also classify as being soft.

    10. Ah, I can't even answer the poll... For me, it depends on the character! I tend to love very strong features, but that doesn't mean every character has them... so some on my wishlist are very soft/gentle or neutral.

    11. Definitely softer features. I love gentle curves on the face, and very few sharp lines. I think that's just a general aesthetic trend I enjoy, and it manifests itself in my preference for softer-featured dolls.

    12. I tend to prefer softer features, and that's largely because I greatly prefer dolls that look child-like and very young, and I find most of those dolls naturally tend to look softer.

    13. I like dolls with soft features, because I mainly like the ones that looks child-like, the most. :3 <3

    14. Sharper features definitely. To me, it gives them a more mature look and some type of personality.

    15. Hmmm... softer I guess? But really most of the time I picked depending on the character I look to house in the doll... so that can vary...

    16. it depends on gender for me, my guys i like them to be more real i guess? but i like my girls to have a softer face.

    17. it depends on if they are male or female and the size of them
for girls (all girls SD to YOSD) I generally like soft faces, nothing to harsh looking
for men (SD sized) I like the opposite, chizzled cheeks, square jaw, all that fun stuff
and for any boys smaller then that I pretty much am okay with anything as long as they can't pass for a girl
I like very manly looking men

    18. This pretty much ^ ^ I voted for sharper though. I prefer sculpts that aren't so soft and neutral. I like them being more...unique? The soft and neutral kind of tend to look like one another, in a sense.

    19. I prefer softer faces for the most part. Every so often I'll see a sharper looking one that I like but they're not that common.

    20. I prefer softer faces for my girls and sharper faces for my boys.
