1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DOlly hoarding

Jul 27, 2012

    1. Okay just they other day I went through my dolly list with my roommate,
I found out I have 4 boys with bodys but way too many floating heads ranging from msd and sd's.I brought on an urge TT^TT so far only one boy who I thought I'd spoil to death have yet got my attention sadly.I've come to miss my boys who's away and ignoring my poor Karou....hoping to give him some attention this following meetup. But man seeing so many floating heads is giving me headaches but I don't want to part with them ughhh~
Any body have a similar problem?

    2. My want to buy list is huge. I'm not sure if I'll go through with it, but so far I have two on lay-away and most likely two more as soon as I get the ones I'm paying for right now. OTL

    3. I currently have ummmmm....a lot. lol Look at my signature. The names in black are home, the darkest grey are complete but away visiting, the medium grey are floating heads or on layaway and the lightest grey are my wishlist. Sometimes, I think I have way too many. but I love them. :P

    4. When I started out I thought I'd have six. I have over 20 now.... with more planned and three currently on layaway. Honestly I'm having trouble trying to keep it under 30 and at the moment I have very few floating heads (as bodies are on their way for some that are out for face ups).

So you're definitely not alone. Not at all.

    5. One of my friends effectively told me I'm on my way to hoarding tonight, and not to buy any other dolls because "they're not like Beanie Babies." I have... six dolls. Which isn't very many, overall, especially when I like making doll accessories and clothes and want to have different dolls and sizes to model them on. My fiancee has two, but one's still on the way, and one of my boys isn't assembled (because I'm afraid to string him). I don't see how that's too many! It would be one thing if I didn't have the space, but I've got enough room to store and accommodate them all, and a few more wouldn't hurt the "family" at all.

That said, there are so, so many more that I want, too. If I bought every doll I've had my eye on over the years, I'd be well over 30 dolls by now.

    6. It's funny I just saw this having just watched Hoarders for the second time...LOL. I have a lot of dolls and have had to sacrifice a lot of space for boxes, bins, etc. I no longer have anymore space and I honestly do not know where I am going to put all my incoming dolls. I was thinking maybe I should rethink my doll family but there really isnt anyone I can part with at this point. I honestly don't consider this hoarding at all since I did sell many of my dolls in 2011 that i didn't play with. I finally have the ones I love. I am going through a long process of carefully thinking if I really need a doll when I decide to purchase one....

    7. I don't know, I'm not too fond of that other thread because I feel the way the question is phrased in the OP puts people on the defense. Or they just answer the question literally, which isn't very interesting/informative to me either.

I think that other thread in a way is more about judgements, about crossing a line from hobby to 'sickness', which makes it volatile and very suited for Debate. This thread however seems to use 'hoarding' in a more neutral way, not about sickness but more about the experience of an ever-expanding collection and OMG how to deal with that. I would love to know people's thoughts on that.
I don't know if I am explaining myself very well here:sweat.

Tl,dr: Both threads contain the word 'hoarding' in the title but the subject matter seems to be different in both threads so far. I for one really hope they are not getting merged!

    8. I've actually never had a single floating head. I haven't ordered a doll during an event and the 2 dolls where I bought the heads and bodies separately I bought them at the same time and the bodies came first ^_^ I also don't think the number of dolls I have is unmanageable. I only have 7 and 2 are a skiny 1/4 and a 1/6 so they are quite small.
