Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. DollZone Yuu version 1 vs. Yuu version 2 - what's the difference?

    1. (Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to search for a thread like this one, but couldn't find one. u_u )

      Like the title says; what's the big difference between the Yuu-1 mold and the Yuu-2 mold? (I also think there's a Yuu-3 mold.)

      Are they named differently simply because they come with different sets of clothes and yadda yadda?

      Someone told me that Yuu-3 is just a different set, while Yuu-1 and Yuu-2 are different head molds? Does anyone know for sure?

      PLEASE provide pictures if you can! I'm going to buy a Yuu for myself in a few months (...I hope XD), so help would be appreciated!

    5. I don't think there is a difference. Yuu2 and 3 came out as fullsets with different clothes and faceup (and Yuu 2 is only available in tan) - that's the reason of the numbers.

      But the facemold is the same.

      I think it's the same with all the 2nd edition dolls - same mold, different faceup and fullset clothes (if someone chooses to order the clothes, too). The only real difference was Shoyo-3, Floy-2 and...Feilian-2 or 3 if I remember correctly - their headcaps were different to accomodate the animal ears instead of human ears. But they were limited^^

      EDIT: I also looked for the reason of the price difference in the 3 Yuus:

      Yuu 1 is $465 for the nude doll - I don't think you can order that faceup anymore.
      Yuu 3 is also $465 - but you can order him with faceup and/or clothes, that's why he has a bigger pricetag on the front page
      Yuu 2 - well...he's tan. Tan is always more expensive^^

    6. I've have a yuu-2 and a yuu-1 together both on modified and there is difference. The eyes of the Yuu-1 are slightly bigger. it's not a massive diference... its just the the bottom lid of the Yuu-1 is more open that the yuu-2.

      The lips of the Yuu-2 are slightly different too.

      (Wing is another exception to the second version of DZ dolls as Wing-2 has Human ears instead of elf)

    8. I personally prefer Yuu-1 but then I'm biased coz that's what my Frankie is :D

      EDIT: I forgot to add that on the DZ site there is a picture of a blank Yuu-1 head, not sure if they have the Yuu-2 head though.

    9. Yeah, I know, but I don't know why they haven't put up the Yuu-2 head for sale? Is buying the tan Yuu- set my only chance of getting a Yuu-2 head or what? D:

    10. I would guess that the main difference is the face up, though I have a Yuu doll and he really doesn't look like any of those three. Also they come with different outfits. I bought mine at the Denver Doll Emporium without an outfit so that might be why he has a different face up.

    12. I don't know for sure but I think Yu Qiao Mao is right. The eyes on Yuu-2 look different... despite the fact that it's also tan XD
