Dream of Doll DOC Head on other company's bodies. Hybrid

Reviving this thread because I'd like to see hybrids myself! Mostly I have a question: How do I get the weird round neck hold in the DOD head to hybrid? D: I'd rather not mod it, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it...

 

I have a DOC on a Doll love body that fits perfectly but I don't have pictures of him naked or showing his body well, I'm away from home but will probably get you some pictures on Saturday.

In the mean time, I have another DOC on a Dollmore body and I do have a pictures^^ but this is an old DOC head, the new DOCs will not match the dollmore skin color, not even those from 2008+.... this doll is from 2005 and skin color is a 100% match and the dollmore body is from 2008.

Also, neck fits perfectly on both bodies and I love the doll-love body because it is slimmer and taller than the 45cm DOD body...I needed him to be taller than the dollmore body because his character is older/taller than my other hybrid and the dollmore body is also taller than the DOC body so it bothered me a bit. (this is the reason why I don't bother with fairyland or luts...their bodies are smaller)

DOC Zen 2005 head + Dollmore 2008 (his hands are blushed that's why they look peachier than the body)










Oh, almost forgot...I had a Dollzone body before and I loved it but the skin tone didn't match so I sold it...maybe you could have a better luck with the skin tone or blush the body, I have a picture of my boy on that body:



Dollzone is also slimmer than DOC, I remember I was so happy when a pair of pants fit him and they were impossible to put on the DOC body.

 

I love them on those bodies! Those are great! And the resin match is good, other than DZ?

Do their neck holes look like this? This is part of why I'm having so much trouble finding a body, and I don't want to mod it... S-hooks won't fit through it, and I'm hoping for an easier solution than having to string it onto a body... Thoughts?

EDIT: I should also specify that I'm looking for a girl body, immature but slender. In case that makes a difference. I'm open to suggestions!

 

I have that neckhole on my DoC Hoo from 2010, but I find it no problem to use a piece of ribbon to pull the elastic through the hole then stable it with the s-hook inside the head; like stringing on arms and putting the s-hook (and hands) on the end

 

THanks! I tried that a few weeks ago with a DZ body I'd traded for, but I couldn't get the head to go on. :/ Maybe I need to loosen the body up!

 

I don't know if the OP is still looking but here is my DOC Twin-B on a Doll love body, personally, I LOVE this body!

The only problem is that this body is so thin compared to DOD that all his clothes are big for him.

The black pants he's wearing here were too tight on the DOC body and he couldn't sit like he is doing here:

 

My very first doll was a Dream of Doll Tender Yen, and after I'd had him about a year and a half I decided I wanted a body for him that had better posing. So I looked around, and found that other people had been happy with DOC heads on Dollmore bodies and got one for my boy. I hated it in person, he looked too tall and willowy, and since he's a pinhead even for a DOC, the proportions looked just off.

So I ended up tucking him away for seven years and now I'm looking again for a body that will not just be an okay color match (think beauty white), but will be a good match for scale. He looks silly on a Volks body, looks pinheaded on the Kid Delf (type 3) body, looks okay on a classic Little Junior CustomHouse body, but is too short, and looks GREAT on a minifee muscle body, but the hands are too small.

So, ideally I'd like to see what other options are out there with the amazing posability of the Minifee bodies, or what bigger hands (preferably even the Illusion Spirit 1/4 jointed hands) would work with the Minifee body. I am in the process of preparing the Dollmore body to sell, and another smaller doll to sell to fund the new body and hands, but I need help finding a match.

Anyone else have a DOC Hybrid? What did you end up with that you liked? I have this image of the head blank (he needs a fresh faceup) sitting on the lap of a Normalskin MNF muscle body, and I like the scale but not the hands.


I appreciate any help in finding him the right body (and hands) after all this time. Yesterday was his 9 year anniversary.

I am also looking to hybrid my DOC Yu. I dislike the posability of the DOD bodies and am hoping to find a new body that is shorter and possibly slimmer. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! This will be my first hybrid so I'm pretty lost on where to start.

 

For what it's worth I ended up going with a Whiteskin Bluefairy Boy Body for my DOC boy.
