1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dream shopping on Etsy for BJD Items?

Feb 1, 2015

    1. Being in the US, I try to find other buying options to cut down on shipping. I've started looking at Etsy. What I have noticed, though, is that most options available to the US are kind of ... generic. The more detailed items are only available internationally.

If you could pick, what would be your dream item to find?

I'd love to find more detailed outfits for MSDs, especially boys. Boys always seem to be left out :(

    2. More high quality casual items for boys and girls, all sizes, but especially SD. TTYA has spoiled me, I love everything they make! My dolls are pop stars, rappers, and just normal teenagers, and finding those styles aren't always easy.

I do want to point out, the shipping prices on a lot of the international etsy sellers aren't really much higher than US sellers. I've bought international items with free shipping or shipping under $5, and I've seen US sellers charge up to $7 to ship. The biggest difference is time. The US item is usually there within a week, the international may be a month or more. But unless I have an important deadline for an event or something, I usually don't mind the wait.

    3. For me it's all about consistently excellent customer service. I'd buy even the generic items if sellers would raise their professionalism. As it stands Etsy is mostly full of hobbyists looking to make a quick buck rather than serious new entrepreneurs. There are a few who are top notch but they're hard to find. Hopefully it'll improve with time but for now I keep my business away from Etsy.

    4. I would love to see more quality SD clothes and items, and more MSD boy clothes. I think a dream item of mine would be to find a cute hat for one of my dolls on etsy but there aren't many on there and most of them are not very well made.

    5. My dream clothes are already available on etsy. I'm not afraid to really dig around for what I want. I do wish more etsy folks took their shops seriously, but I've found the ones that do, so I stick with them.

    6. I've found a few like Natrume and TTYA on etsy and tend to stick with them, and try to hunt through their likes/favorites. From time to time I do a general search for BJD/70cm and see what comes up. rRabbit is now on there too.

    7. Well, I have a shop open but right now it's just jewelry. I take pride in that small bit up and hope to offer clothes one day. Of course mine won't be as perfect as companies like TTYA and rRabbit but I hope to make it good enough!

    8. I'd like to see more steampunk pieces for all sizes, and some nice things for 60 cm girls and 65 cm boys.

    9. I would love to see more European historical/fantasy things vs Asian which there is a ton of as well as more shoes for Iplehouse EID men :eusa_pray

    10. I would love to find things that are frilly and maybe fantasy/historical stuff to fit the RS Mei that I'm getting, rather than all the modern clothing, which is actually made for minifees, but, I'm told, will fit a Mei as well.

    11. I'm currently quite well-served for the dolls I have at home... and with some things, I'm capable of doing my own crafting, at least for the dolls who I have at home to try things on along every step... but so many of the dolls on my wishlist right now are odd sizes/proportions. So I guess my dream would be... anyone sewing specifically for a Dollmore Judith body. Others I can usually find at least *something* for floating around out there, but that one's impossible to shop for.

    12. I'm a sucker for pretty, layered, well-made dresses, and Etsy has plenty of those in MSD size. Frilly things overall, too. If it has lace and bows/ribbons/beads on it, it's going on my 'to buy' list. Etsy is a dangerous place in general, haha.

    13. I have a whole bunch of stores and items favorited on etsy. Maybe one day I'll buy something :c There's just so many things, I don't know what to pick yet!

I like simple outfits. I guess I want my doll to just look like a normal person? Nothing crazy. Also detailed outfits tend to be expensive >_> So maybe at some point lol.
