1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

eBay Adding New Dollfie Category

Sep 8, 2004

    1. I don't know if this has been posted yet or not (I didn't see anything about it in recent post titles). I just found out on the Lunar Ark ML that eBay is adding a new "Dollfie" category (I know, I know... not all BJDs are Dollfies... but that's eBay's problem, LOL). Here's the link showing the new listing, but I couldn't find it in the My eBay category selection page so it may not be active yet:

      http://pages.ebay.com/categorychanges/dolls.html
      (category #84635 -- under Brand/Company/Character > Dollfie)

    2. Awesome. That'll make searching for stuff a lot easier, no?

    3. Interesting! I remember when a search for "dollfie" didn't bring up more than one page of results, and now there will be a whole category.. things have certainly come a long way!

    4. Yaaaay! I voted for an 'Asian BJD' category awhile back when the head of the doll section opened up a forum for suggestions. I'm glad they did something...even if it's not exactly right. :D

I hope they let people list dolls from other BJD companies. Or third party clothing and accessories. Actually, I'm sure eBay doesn't really know or care...but leave it to some user eventually to get some wild hair and complain about non-SD on the Dollfie category. *cynical*

Still...it will make searches SO much easier!

    5. Ha.. eBay wouldn't know a dollfie/SD if it bit them in the butt... and dealing with an obscure (to them) foreign company about trademarks isn't something they'll be wanting to do. It's kind of like the Sanrio/Hello Kitty mess a few years ago-- there was a Hello Kitty category, but some dorks were upset that non-Hello Kitty (ie still Sanrio characters, just not the cat) things were being put there. So they made a separate category for Sanrio while keeping the original Hello Kitty one. *_*

    6. Yeah, I'm figuring that people will just get all 'political' and start doing silly things like contacting eBay abuse because someone posted a SUPER Dollfie in the DOLLFIE category. After experiencing a lot the rules-mongering that sellers partake in I've become rather cynical, I'm afraid.

    7. Great news! :D Should make searching easier. Whenever I wanted to see what was on ebay I always searched "dollfie". That always popped up 99% of the other bjd stuff. Now I can just bookmark the category under favorites. I've never heard about all the fuss over "rules" before  , but I do way more buying than selling.

I suppose one way around the rules would be to include in the post something about "fits super dollfie". This would work for wigs or shoes or accessories. I always see handmade stuff for other dolls pop up in the Tonner category, or Gene, or whatever...
