1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Essential (favorite) accessories for your BJD

Aug 8, 2014

    1. Hey everyone! Just thinking about buying some fun accessories for my first BJD, what would you say are some of your essentials, or favorite, accessories to treat them to? As in a an iPhone, a purse, new stuffed animals. What little things do they like?

    2. I love to have an assortment of stuffed animals for my dolls. I collect cutesy dolls, so stuffed animals are an absolute must when it comes to accompanying items! :D I also really like headbands/big bows/cute hats. A nice hat can really breathe new life into an old outfit and help set a mood. I would be lying if I said I don't occasionally use a hat to cover up a frizz-problem on some of my doll wigs between washes.

    3. Gifts often wind up becoming the quintessential accessories for my boys-- Vince got some jewelry in a swap that he hasn't taken off since, regardless of what outfit he's in. (he has a HUGE stockpile of toys, and bags to tote his goodies around in, a few hats, and lots of jewelry-- mostly he has chunky pendants that aren't super gendered-- at least, in my own opinion-- but the bracelet he's wearing seems to be the one thing that's going to be his signature thing. It's cute and while it could read as girly with the right clothes, it also kind of reminds me of Kyo from Fruits Basket... so it works just as well when he's dressed down in his boyish stuff).

Pete has a pair of glasses that are SUPPOSED to be his number one accessory, but he almost never wears them, and Vince sometimes steals them. His other big accessory is his netbook (it was a ReMent laptop that came with a little cat, but it's too small to pass for a full-sized laptop for him-- still, it's definitely HIS if you ask him), and he's laid claim to the mini 'gaming systems' as well.

And Billy gets anything that's Yo-sized rather than MSD-sized, generally... he doesn't accessorize very often, in terms of wearing things, but he does have his own toys-- my fave of those is a Pillow Pet keychain that looks like a Yo-sized bee Pillow Pet.

    4. My dolls can't go by without their furniture. XD I swear I'm not kidding. I bought a little egg like chair meant for my Yo-SD but it doesn't fit her, so I gave it to two of my 1/6th boys who are now all snuggled in it together...For my girls, it's light colors and now necklaces made by my mother. For Avalon it's now going to be likely his steampunk necklace..For Veronica my tiny it's her little white sneakers.

    5. I have most of them displayed on doll sized furniture (a lovely couch, a bench, two mobile phone holders, a bathtub).
I like to treat them with (homemade) jewellery, finger crocheted scarfs and hair accessoires.
My favorite prop is a miniature violin for my yosd. He used it only once, but the details are amazing. It has a case, stand, bow and everything!

    6. Their chairs! Most have beds, which they hardly use. Sitting is a more awake position that is still safe from falling.

    7. My newest girl, Koharu, plays guitar so of course she has a scale guitar to play. :aheartbea That is her favorite thing in the whole world!
One of my girls who travels with Koharu never goes anywhere without her floral suitcase!

For all my 1/3 size girls, they would be frustrated if they didn't have a huge assortment of hair accessories! They love ribbons, hats, and headbands!

    8. I really just have one doll with a ton of accessories. She has a laptop, a really well made to scale cat stuffed animal, I've made a bunch of food props, a purse, several necklaces and scarves, and an Eve Studio cat. I wouldn't usually consider a pet an accessory, but for the sake of a doll, I guess it is. It is only her cat, not my other dolls.

    9. I have so many favorites! Dhani's Rolling Stones poster and nautical themed bedroom and Candle Cove Skin Taker doll. Parker's One Direction pillows and bears and dolls. Amir's hookah and sand garden. Loki's replica of Billie Joe Armstrong's guitar. Kier's legos. Hailey's fashion doll. Justin's lamp and basketball. Mikko's cane. Cian's soccer ball.

i really want to get a 1/12 scale BJD for Alex to have her own MSD. :D

    10. Your dolls are living my dream life :D
Also I also want my dolls to have their own BJD. Haha, is that strange?

    11. I picked up a lot of fun accessories for my doll last week - a big chest for all her clothes and little cutlery and a key from Michael's, and some tiny plastic boxes to keep them in from container store. They're all on my flickr (link in signature) of you want to see. I also like making her jewellery and little bags and things.

    12. The only thing I think of is eylets and rivets. I can't stand running out. If I don't have any I can't make any leather clothing or accessories (and I'm addicted to making the girls leather things). It takes forever for the shipping to buy new ones and I'm way too inpatient. ^^' I love all small rivets. Maybe that's not accessories though...

    13. Probably my favorite part about BJD's are their cute little props and room dioramas so I love hearing about this kind of stuff. I haven't gotten my BJD yet (one payment away) and I am going to spoil her with cute little things!!! She needs all her game systems and manga haha.

I found this website that sells adorable props! Has anyone every shopped from here before? I just want to make sure it's legit before buying stuff: http://nightfallwalker.web.fc2.com/frame.htm

    14. My dolls mostly have bracelets, stuffed animals, and mini food. I love making mini food, so they have LOTS.

    15. To digress a little, yes this place is legit, I haven't ordered from them in a long time, but I had a good experience!

In scale props are such a pleasure to find, I really wish more places sold them and they were cheaper. Hahaha

    16. Some of the first things I bought were:

Jewelry-- necklaces or pieces that meant something to the character.

Swords-- I have fantasy and sort of historical characters and swords are an important accessory!

Belts-- For the sword and sometimes for outfits that need them and don't automatically come with them.

Sock, stockings-- Important to complete outfits. And panties for girls wearing dresses and skirts.

Hair ornaments and clips... and HATS! --needed to complete outfits or make hairstyles or keep hair out of eyes...

Furniture-- Chairs! SO important! and STANDS! Need them to keep dolls standing safely and not just sitting on the ground or shelves or whatever.

Pets, toys, plushies, other props -- fun to have.

    17. I love to find them little props in unexpected places like a gift shop , something like a tiny Buddha to decorate their space or cute little furry plush friends they can cuddle with.

    18. :D My rini loves anything hello kitty and the color pink/black. She has a backpack that's hello kitty. I love finding her stuff/props.

    19. probably chairs and shoes

    20. One word, RINGS.
All my dolls, except the YOSD and tiny, wear rings.
The rings are important coz my dolls all belong to one clan or other. The right hand would be wearing the clan ring while the left hand wears either, 1) a ring of their own choice, 2) a ring that shows they are in alliance to someone else - almost like an owner/slave ring.
