It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Ever fall in love with some one's limited doll?

Oct 12, 2013

    1. I love looking at the box openings on here. I get so happy for everyone on here when they get a doll that they love and I feel super excited for them. But it's happened to me a few times, where I'm looking at the openings and some one just got a limited doll that I didn't know about being released, and said doll no longer available. It happened more often when I first got into the hobby, not knowing about most of the companies out there, but it's still happened once or twice sense then.

      So my question is:
Whether it be at a meet or online, have you ever fallen in love with some one else's limited doll, fullset or not?

    2. Well, yeah. I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people...

...but that's what the MP is for. ;)

    3. I did!... And I am getting him too! :o:XD::whee::celebrate. A local club member got one I was in instant love with (saw him at the meet). I warned her then if he went missing just come to me lol. She decided to rehome him (she isn't good with his size) along with some others to get a 'wishlist' doll. Yay for both of us! And since she's a local she can still 'visit' at meets lol. This will make my third "I'll never be able to get him/her'" acquisition, so ya.... never say never lol.

    4. Yes, I was foolish enough to look at a box-opening of Volks Belle, knowing full well that I already liked her from the official photos. The owner photos slayed me and I knew I had to have her. I looked at every box-opening of her. Now I can gladly say she is on her way home to me, too. :)

The ZuZu Delfs have also done this to me because I was unaware of their existence before the box-openings started. One day, though. One day.

    5. You are not alone! There are several one of a kind dolls owned by others that I have taken a fancy to and hope to be able to purchase on the secondary market one day. What would be better, though, is if I could fall out of love with them, so that I can stop torturing myself!

    6. Something similar happened to me, Lady Tiku! The first dolls I ever fell in love with were some Angelregions I saw in photostories on a collector's site (Children of Glass, I think?). I thought their Present Jade was gorgeous and I really wanted one of my own. I mentioned as much on DoA, and one day I got a PM from someone looking to rehome their boy. That's how I wound up with my Randall. I couldn't believe my luck.

    7. I've always wanted Snowy from an action doll animation. But too bad she's not on sale.

    8. This proves that expressing a truly earnest desire for someones doll is a good thing... and I am sure the previous owner was glad to know the doll was going to be loved to bits, making it easier to part with ^^ That's what Enyu's owner said... she is glad he's going local to someone she knows will love him. (I'm currently trying to find a Barbie bed and chair (they should be just the right size) for him to use ^^ (only I don't know where I stashed them lol.

wow just wow.... that is so cool ... just the video alone even if the doll wasn't totally gorgeous.... have you Googled around to see if maybe he has been made by other collectors so you could see what dolls they used? Try to put together your own?

    9. I am totally smitten with a doll that belongs to someone on the boards here. It's a rare head to begin with, but the face up and just everything about that particular doll, I love. If I could have any doll ever, that would be it. If I could only have ONE doll... it would be that one. I just look it up every once in awhile and sigh... and dream that I might have one that comes close to it one day. :)

    10. Yes. And then, when she put it up for sale, I bought it. :3

    11. I always fall in love with limited BJDs, especially the ones like Lolita brand collabs and anime/manga/etc collabs (eg Rozen Maiden) because it is something I am also strongly attached to.

    12. Same here. I really liked the look of a friend's Breakaway when she got him, even though I hadn't been particularly impressed with the sculpt just looking at Luts' sale pictures. A year or so later, she put her guy up for sale... and I bought him.

    13. It happens to me all the time! I would become addicted on looking for that doll, wishing someday very soon I could have her with me.

    14. Limited and just discontinued! I'm totally in love with Ivory Stardust's BlueBlood Waltz, Spencer. I have two of my own Waltzes (one NS, one tan) and I don't love either as much as her boy. Sad, since her boy is what made me fall for the sculpt, but I also just love Spencer's character so much, mine can't compete. :P (Even though my boy, Titus, is Spencer's cousin! All with permission, of course!)

I also am just SO in love with Isabeau's Elfdoll Vampire Red. Though I'm normally not interested in fantasy sculpts at all, they aren't for me, so I won't be getting one of my own, but I WILL fawn over Florian at ever single meet up!

    15. I fell in love with someone's Minifee Breakaway mod and found months later that she listed him! I totally bought him that day! XD

    16. Oh yeah I've been there, but I'm glad I've never crossed the line & acted like I was entitled to get the doll more than they were. I've seen some people go there and it's really sad to have anyone have to defend their good fortune of getting through the checkout process safely or being picked for the lottery.

I just about fell off my chair seeing photos of Volks SD13 Heath & Volks SDC Renee :fangirl:

    17. O_o I am not even sure how one would do that... in a serious way... I've jokingly said "wth are you doing with MY doll". But to seriously do the 'entitled' thing??? And as for joking... lol it's part of what got me my LE (told her I'd just snitch it ;p )

    18. OMG I can't even remember how many times I felt in love with other's doll. Almost each time I checked my purse then calm down. The last time I had a crash on was a soom Benmore, and I think I'll get him ><

    19. Unfortunately they don't have her on sale anywhere. I've googled and searched many places and I guess she's just meant to be in a doll drama. The only thing I can do now is to try to put together my own version of her :)

    20. Whether it be at a meet or online, have you ever fallen in love with some one else's limited doll, fullset or not?

      All the time.

It's really worse when I then see them come up in the Marketplace... I'm currently on layaway for two limiteds on the Marketplace and there was another that's for sale and I just can't get that TOO. And I was trying to NOT buy dolls (running out of money and space!).

I can usually find all the limiteds I want on the Marketplace or on Ebay (although you need to watch and make sure you aren't buying a re-cast or a damaged doll on Ebay!). I've bought like 5 or 6 that way. It's terrible because you have to jump on the sale right away or miss it... and you end up spending too much money... (they usually aren't cheaper than the company prices).
