1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever Take pride in being the one to sell out something,

May 25, 2012

    1. Like being the last person to buy an in stock outfit, or a limited doll or just a doll in genral?

I think I've done it three, four times now. <3

      Its always so wonderful.

So have you ever sold out anything?

    2. I bought the last BBD Draven...but that didn't make me happy b/c he needed a twin! (though that is in the process of being fixed. :P )

I bought the last suit when I got Amir's bday gift...that made me happy b/c it felt like it was waiting just for him. :)

    3. My very first bjd was #68 of 68 Delf Elf Els.

But it didn't give me a thrill at all. I was mostly sweating it out because I was worried that I might not get one at all. The number doesn't really mean much other than making me remember worrying about it (I was sent the wrong doll and the company wasn't sure if they could get me the right one because the doll was limited)... :atremblin

I think getting the last one is just chance and doesn't make it any different than getting one of the others... But I do know that some people really like getting the first or last or certain favorite number.

    4. I think I did, as a matter of fact, when I bought him I smiled contendtly thinking that he was meant to be mine because he was the last one. :) It wasn't a BJD though...it was an Azone Pure Neemo boy doll, and as far as I know, the one I got is not available anywhere.

    5. Not pride but definitely felt extremely lucky when I've gotten the last or close to last of a limited doll and doll item.

My most notable experience though was a couple years ago there was a doll I knew was the last one and I had a chance to get her but passed up on her then really regretted it after. A couple months later I found out she had gone to someone in my local doll community and the regret went away because I knew she went to someone who enjoys her and was so happy to see that. :) She's still on my wishlist though.

    6. There is a kind of a giddy feeling to it whenever I'm lucky and get the very last of something. :D My Pukipuki Chichi Fullet "Smirnoff" comes to mind, as Fairyland had just listed him as soldout, but agree to provide me with one as long as I was serious about purchasing. You bet your sweet bippy I was serious! ;) But I was on pins and needles until I actually received him in hand. :sweat

      Juli DC :)

    7. Ridiculously so.. It is a giant rush of adrenaline for me. I seriously get adrenaline rush from competitive buying situations. I'm one sick m(^therf%$er! :o

    8. Well, more luck than pride. :3
But kinda proud... Jezabel was the last normal skin DZ Ying I could find anywhere, Junkyspot still had it in stock awhile after DZ discontinued him. So I feel lucky to have been able to buy him, and I got very excited when I did, especially when the order went through, and the doll was taken off the site.

    9. If it was a doll I absolutely loved, I would, but an impulse buy? Probably not. I'd feel lucky if anything. :)

    10. I got the last Tatiana Pierrot from Iplehouse :XD:

I was so lucky to nab her. She got purchased, and was sold out then suddenly came back in stock. My girl put them as sold out permanently :D It's kinda nice knowing that you've got the last one.

Kinda like going to the store to get something and only finding one box left of what you need.

    11. I remember falling in love with DearMine's Misty Dorothy and telling my wife how I had to have her. I was going to ask about layaway, but my wife told me to just buy her so she could be a Christmas present. While I felt a little bad feeling like I'd coerced her into it, as soon as I received confirmation of my order, Misty Dorothy sold out. So then I was incredibly giddy and grateful. I adore her, and feel so lucky to have gotten the last one. And potentially the only one without the set's red eyes, as DearMine was super sweet and let me get minty colored ones instead that matched her face-up.

    12. My Noir was one of the last ones available, I got it right on time. There may have been a John Green victory dance. But you can't prove anything. There's no video.

    13. My Ddoll Hiro was the last of his batch, and I got a mini heart attack when I saw his product page go Sold Out. I thought something went wrong with the mold and I wouldn't be able to receive my boy (he did arrive after 18 days). Part of me thinks his Sold Out status is merely to give way to DDoll's new boy sculpt El. In any case, my Blake will be the last Hiro for a while. :3

    14. I've felt lucky mostly. I lusted after this Little Moda outfit and I got the last one. Someone in a discussion thread was going to purchase it the day after I did. Kinda felt a little bad on that one.

I also just bought the last in stock white skin doll family practice head at MoC. Made my day on that. Mostly just happy that I got the thing.

    15. I have gotten quite a few last of things but not quite sure if any of them where dolls or not. I got my very first BJD about two years ago. So I still don't know about all the different dolls out there. I keep seeing all the dolls here and loose my mind.

    16. Yeah, I've purchased the last in-stock items of clothing and wigs three times now, on Luts. I always experience this strange sense of satisfaction as a result, though I don't know why. I also feel relieved. I mean, whew, I got to this item first, before anyone else, so I don't have to worry about whether or not they're releasing the item again.

    17. I don't really take pride in it, but I was the one who took the last-in-stock Doll-Love YoYo off of MoC and it just gave me a feeling of being lucky, because someone else could have easily bought that doll while I was waiting to get the money (I usually have to use prepaid visa gift cards to purchase things online because my parents feel it's the "safest" way to do so) or was making sure she was what I wanted.
