1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Exchange rates very? I'm confused!

May 11, 2022

    1. I'm completely confused about exchange rates. I live in the USA and I bought a doll that the exchange rate was from USD to € and it was very high in the USD conversion. A few days later I buy a different doll from USD to € and it was barely noticeable in the USD conversion. How can the same USD to € change so drastically in just a few days? Is it because it's different areas of the country?

    2. Economy probably, its really complicated. Like how with the whole Russia thing the value of their currency tanked (for reasons)-- it just kinda?? fluxuates with the wind.

    3. Political and economic conditions change so quickly so that affects the conversion rates.

    4. Yeah unfortunately the exchange rates CAN vary widely in just a few days. It shouldn't be impacted by location, just time.

    5. Exchange rates fluctuate even within the same trading day. Also, some transactions may not be posted until a few days after the purchase, and the price might be different than expected because the rate has changed during processing time. It happened to me once for a preorder item. The transaction was pending for a few days, and the amount changed when it got posted. Also, your bank may charge you a foreign transaction fee. These are all uncertainties associated with international order.

    6. Exchange rates also vary from bank/ payment service to service. For instance, in my country paypal will always use a rate a lot less favourable than say some banks here use for their international transactions, and that's before additional fees. A student of economy can probably explain how it works...
