1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fantasy / Elven Inspired Clothes for NON-Slim MSD?

Feb 21, 2022

    1. Hello everyone,

If there is pre-existing information regarding this question please feel free to link it below. I am looking for recommendations for buying Elven-inspired clothing/fantasy sets for dolls that are not Minifee size >.< This seems to be a bit of a challenge as the majority of MSD clothes on platforms like Etsy or so are geared towards slim MSD. I did look through Dollmore - but they don't appear to have any "Lord of the Ring"-esque items.

The body I am looking to get things for would be Myou doll Ver 2 (new). Dimensions below for reference.
      Measurements:
      -Height: 44cm (when with head)
      -Neck: 7cm
      -Shoulder Width: 8.5cm
      -Chest: Small-18.5cm, Large-20cm
      -Waist: 14.5cm
      -Hips: 21cm
      -Shoulder to Wrist: 13.3cm
      -Thigh Circumference: 12.5cm
      -Calf Circumference: 9cm
      -Leg Length: 21cm
      -Foot Length: 5.4cm
      -Foot Width: 2.1cm

      Thanks in advance.

    2. I haven’t bought from them yet but Capsuledoll on Etsy does fantasy inspired clothes and will do custom sizes if you send them the measurements for your doll. They seem to have high reviews and I’m very tempted to order from them but haven’t decided what to order, or for who the outfit will go to. XD

    3. Hey - thank you I will check them out!

    4. Capsule Doll is lovely, i've bought from her several times both in stock stuff and customs.

Eternal dolls does corsets and flouncy dress things.

A few other Etsy people will do other sizes if you ask too. Most of my dolls are slim msd and I found it difficult regardless as msd tends to have less selection available.

AzuriellesGrove has made me clothing before, expensive, but nice stuff.

Rosslyn's Workshop does tunics and stuff.

    5. As a lover of Lord of the Rings, I am right there with you in looking for proper elven fashion. As for not slim MSD clothes, I have liked some of Volks outfits though they tend to be more towards Ren Faire/Hobbit like clothing. Luts has also had some good outfits. I have, for my SDs, commissioned movie accurate costumes (not inexpensive). I've been more loosey goosey with my MSDs in regards to accuracy. But a lot of the shops you've been recommended are great! I need to buy from them!

    6. CapsuleDoll and KiwiLemonKiss are my go-to for fantasy non-slim msd! Both do customs as well but CapsuleDoll usually has better availability for that and can sew based on measurements alone. I commissioned them for a custom SSDF monk garb a year or so ago and the quality is excellent.

    7. I know you said buy, but if you have a hard time finding what you're looking for and just want something in the meantime, there are some really helpful project tutorials and patterns in the Patterns subforum of the Workshop, lots of which are compiled in this thread. The 3-seam caftan, dress, or tunic pattern (which I'm also linking here) came to mind in particular, since trim embellishments or a ribbon belt, or with a slit cut down the front of the neck (with teeny holes for lacing, perhaps) make it an easy and versatile quick project! Again, I know not what you're looking for ready-made on the market, but also... not a bad idea if you've got a budget for commissioning pieces, either, the simplicity makes it a good way to keep prices down if you like the look! Good luck and happy hunting!

    8. I think @Mamo has a good point! If you break down a Lord of the Rings or even Ren Faire or medieval garb/outfits/costumes, they're just built up layers! So you could try your own hand at building up the layers into what you want! I mean Legolas is leggings, a shirt/tunic, another tunic/tabard, boots, armor, a cape, and then weaponry. I've bought fabric to make my dolls their own Tolkien costumes (I am going for more of a Silmarillion vibe so imagination takes the reigns) but I just haven't committed. And nothing says it has to be like the Jackson films - you could use your own vision and create your own outfits!

Though my Elrond is a fussy boy and I spoil him with movie accuratish commissioned costumes. He's just got the one but he looks purty. (I've commissioned a second one but Covid is wreaking havoc with fabric suppliers.)
