1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fantasy MSD dolls?

Feb 4, 2009

    1. After lusting over Soom's MDs and Souldoll's Chiron, I was wondering...does anybody know why BJD companies don't make similar dolls in MSD? It seems like the only fantasy-based MSDs are elves and vampires. Would it be too difficult to shrink those fantastic molds down to MSD? I'd purchase a MSD-sized Sard in a heartbeat.

    2. I feel the same as you but I think generally companies don't think there's as much profit in the smaller size or think the msd size is not as popular.

The closest "fantasy" style dolls I've seen are Volks FCS that take option ears and the dollmore ones that offer four type of ears.

    3. O.O *Melts into a puddle* MSD-sized Sard...? XD I actually wish they would. I would buy one in a heartbeat, but mostly so I could use the body for a MNM MSD head of my Draenei character. XD She needs the hooved and furry legs! I think I'll agree with AreeElf in that they simply don't think it's profitable, or-- in SOOM's case-- they simply don't make MSD-sized dolls. That would be fantastic, though.

    4. Exactly! I'd be beside myself if somebody made a hoofed MSD. Soom and Souldoll took risks when they released their fantasy SDs. I guess somebody will have to take the leap for MSDs.

I'm a little curious as to why you think it wouldn't be profitable. From what I can tell MNFs keep flying off the shelf. And lots of people seem to like Bobobies elves. Perhaps the risk of putting time/effort into a fantasy sculpt that might flop is too great?

    5. It might also be more complicated to create some of the parts in the smaller size. That seems like something they could work around, though.

    6. I am not sure the real fantasy ones have been out long enough for the companies to think about MSD size, they mostly concentrate on the bigger dolls, but after the success of the ones mentioned above it might encourage companies to give MSD a shot
