1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Fashion Doll Discussion

Feb 22, 2024

    1. Hi peeps!

I see a lot of different doll conversations here and I would love to talk about fashion dolls like Popovy Sisters, Natalia Loseva, EslynsDolls, Sugarbone Doll, Tender Creation, Spirit Imprint, Marmite Sue, PashaPasha...

Do you prefer to buy secondhand or direct from the artist?
Do you prefer them in lingerie or different styles?
Where do you buy your clothes, wigs&accessories?

    2. It's a nice idea for a topic !

These dolls are stunning but definitely out of my budget, however if I could I might tend to buy directly from the artist, unless I find the exact model I am looking for in the EU (since customs have always been an issue for me and most of these artists aren't European :sweat)

For the rest I won't be able to help much but I prefer my dolls to wear full outfits than just lingerie, it does not really fit with my style of pictures

And for the wigs, accessories and stuff, Etsy is pretty much the best place in my opinion, it's the best place where artists gather for this kind of doll stuff from what I saw

For Popovy and Pasha Pasha in particular, I would recommend check some videos from Muñecas, Poupées and Dolls, she loves this kind of dolls and makes some haul videos from time to time that can be a great source of inspiration :)

    3. Oh yes, I´ve bought a lot of stuff off Etsy already and was satisfied with the quality so far.
Well, one guy sent a broken high heel with the outfit and expected me to go with it. That was weird.

What I also noticed is the slow and scarce communication while waiting for commissioned pieces.

    4. Love fashion dolls, I prefer to order them directly from the seller so that way I can have my pick of what sculpt or skin tone I want. But if I see something on the secondhand market that I want I would definitely jump at the chance to get it. As for buying clothes I usually like to commission an artist or find something on Etsy if I’m just looking for something generic.

    5. I have bought most of mine directly from the artist. And I don’t have an interest in lingerie, but it’s a real bitch to find clothes I do like that fit! Most of my clothes are from collectors-turned-seamstresses I’ve found on Instagram

    6. Oh yes, finding clothes for them is a challenge! Especially shoes!

    7. oh yes, the shoes are very difficult. Especially because I don’t like pointe feet or high heels.

    8. I prefer high heels but don´t like ballet feet at all, too. :thumbup

    9. I’m glad you started this thread, I follow a lot of content on social media about realistic artist fashion dolls but I wish there was more active forum discussion on them! To me, they are the most beautiful style of doll.

I’m a bit unusual as a collector though because I don’t like emaciated looking dolls. My favorite doll is a Legrand Lidia haha. So I’ve been very excited to see many famous artists sculpt bodies that aren’t skinny. Loving the Popovy Venus and I already own a Doll Menagerie Muse body, and the Goddess body from Metis Doll.

I am trying to slow way down on my doll purchases the next couple years but the next doll of this style I hope to buy is Veronika from Lutsenko Dolls. I have always loved the body of their dolls but none of their faces called to me until they introduced Veronika recently.

    10. I´ve been eyeing Lutsenko Eliza with ginger hair, they have amazing faces! <3
I also like Popovy dolls with the Madonna body, but probably will never have one because they go at least for 12500$.
I don´t mind them being skinny, they are the mature version for the Barbie dolls I cherished as a kid.
And that´s great in the mature doll world, there´s dolls for every taste. :3nodding:

    11. /This! by the way.

These dolls are the reason why I dived into that hobby last year, finally, after adoring Popovy dolls for at least 10 years and looking for them from time to time. <3

    12. Who are your favorite artists, besides Popovy?

    13. I like Lutsenko, Loseva, Sugarbone and Tender Creation very much. Oh and I have a fascination for the holographic doll from Tiger Sugar. <3

Pasha I like the least. They are too weird for my taste and remind me of Ephialtes from 300. :aeyepop:

    14. @Erasmia Isn't it interesting how different people's tastes are? The weirdness is exactly what attracts me to PashaPasha sculpts, which are my personal favorite of the Russian fashion dolls. There's something alien and strange (almost borderline "ugly"?) about them that I find endlessly captivating. I've definitely seen some faceups that soften that effect and push them more into classically beautiful territory like the Sugarbone and Tender Creation, but those artists have to work pretty hard at it! I think it's the heavy brow ridge?

Speaking of classically beautiful and breathtaking -- Lutsenko really is amazing! Munecas, Poupees, and Dolls has unboxed a couple on her channel, and I think I gasped out loud when I first saw them.

      Thanks for starting this thread!

    15. Oh yes, definitely! This is another aspect what makes the hobby so interesting. :D
And yes, I saw a few videos of Allison recently, especially outstanding her Popovys and Lutsenko doll. :wiggle

    16. I'm waiting for a little owl flora lilac edition, and a Marmite Sue custom lily.

I'm sending my little owl off to a bjd custom artist.

Glad to join the thread. I don't see anyone talking about them. They are my fav dolls, by far.

    17. Same here! <3
People say they have the best mobility and quality.

    18. I wonder why so little people are talking about them. Is it really the price? Because in the end, most people buy multiple dolls that combined, are worth much more than one popovy. Is it the waitlist?

      • x 1
    19. I think most of it is the price. Reading through threads on DoA the last few years- I see many people mentioning these dolls and artists/saying they are fans, but most say they will never buy because it’s simply not affordable or their budget for a single doll is way under the typical $800-1600 for a blank doll of this style.

    20. I wish I would´ve already been around when they were still 850$ blank.
Then I also could´ve ordered a full set. :doh
