1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feedback for BlueFairy and the English postal system.

Nov 22, 2007

    1. Got my TinyFairy Emilie today from BlueFairy, however it wasn't exactly a "smooth" transaction.

      Basic information out the way first:

      * What did you order?
      Basic Emilie with blossom body.

      * When did you order?
      Place order: 29th October
      Order shipped: 16th November
      Order arrived: 22nd November

      * How was the communication?
      With BlueFairy, it was kind of easy. They replied to me rather fast (within 24 hours, except once when it was about 48 hours, and they apologised for the long wait on that occasion) and they understood what I asked well and replied accordingly

      * How easy was it to pay?
      Very easy to pay. Just put in my details and away the payment was. However due to misunderstandings of what certain "status" meant, I ended up going through a lot of hassle which I didn't need to do (such as scan my credit card and passport)

      * How long did it take to ship?
      Place order: 29th October
      Order shipped: 16th November
      So roughly... 3 and a half weeks.

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      Eh... I love the doll, however, $350 for it? After getting her, I don't think she's worth $350, despite how wonderful she is... Not that I regret buying her, or would suggest others to not get her, but that was a lot of money to spend imho.

      * Did the item look like the sales pictures?
      Yeah, she looks exactly like the sales pictures

      * Were you satisfied with the product?
      Yes and no. Yes, because she's beautiful. No, because she has crazy legs and crazy arms and is near impossible to pose, which means I'll have to suede her most likely or go to some other lengths just to make her more posable.

      ABOUT BLUEFAIRY:
      BlueFairy was generally a nice company, however they made 2 errors which make me question their overall professionality. One error was that, they gave me the shipping date for my doll, which they said was going to be the 19th Nov (and I'd asked on the 9th), and instantly I got an email with a tracking number saying my doll had been shipped. However, this email (even though it had my name) was not meant for me, it was someone else's mail. So I had been following someone else's doll. I asked BlueFairy about this, and they apologised, but that was all. They also referred to me with someone else's name to a later question I asked, which threw me off and made me worry about if I was going to get my correct order. I also asked about this name mistake, they just apologised, nothing more.

      EXTRA NOTES:
      One thing which seems to never be meantioned on is the extra hidden costs. English customs fees aren't really spoken about, and neither is the confinement time. This was my first doll, and it was extremely distressing after having found out I couldn't have it because it was being held hostage until I paid the customs fees. Considering BlueFairy is an international company, I think they should meantion SOMEWHERE that "you may live in a country that has customs fees. If you do, please be aware of these, we do not take responsibility of these in any of our costs", just so that people will be aware.

      Overally, with shipping and customs the doll came to $520.

      SHIPPING:
      A major problem I had was with the postal service for the UK. I phoned up multiple times to find out about my package, and usually all I would get is someone who didn't quite know what was going on and wasn't very helpful. When my doll was in this country, no-one truely knew in what state it was or how long it would be kept in the various places it was kept in (such as international hub, national hub, etc). Maybe it's just me, but having $520 flying around in a postal system, not knowing what's happening to it, is rather worrying.

      I don't ever want to have to go through the kinds of hassles I had to go through again. Mostly the customs were the problem. It's sad that if the BJD companies were situated in France or something, I wouldn't ever have these problems. But shipping outside the EU for me costed me a lot of money and time, and I hope that other English shippers are aware of these before they take the leap and buy something outside of the EU
