1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feedback for Reve en Poupee?

Jan 18, 2007

    1. I was wondering if anyone has feedback for their wigs. They seem to be the only place that takes custom wig orders for minis.

    2. I have two of their wigs. For the price, they're not worth it. The wigs tend to shed and you can easily see the wig cap (that's my big peeve.)

    3. I ordered a custom wig from them as well - the size was wrong, the fiber wasn't good quality and it arrived a total mess. The custom styling wasn't very good either, I could have styled it a lot better myself. They don't provide very good approval photos either (low res, blurred - so the wig looks better than it ends up being in reality.)

This was all on top of the huge ordeal in even recieving. They sent the wig to me without my final approval, but it got lost in the mail and was returned to them. It wasn't until I started to complain about the huge delay, that they 'found it' and resent it.

    4. I've got several. They are OK. Some better than others. One, as krambear mentions, shows the wigcap more than I'd like. It's a blond color, though, and I've had problems with wigcaps showing through light colors easily with other brands as well.

Custom wigs are tough... They always have a huge chance of coming out nothing like you'd expect. :(

I'd say, they aren't the highest of quality, more a kind of mid-range wig. The feel of the hair is nice. I can't remember the price, but they are probably not worth paying the higher prices unless you see something you really HAVE to have, of course. The wig caps fit my dolls well enough. They were definitely better in quality than the early K-Starr wigs, and better than super-cheap wigs.

    5. I just read they were banned from DoA. Can someone tell me why? If you cant post here please pm me.

    6. I bought two wigs from them, first a standard wig that I asked if it could be modified to a shorter length, and while I was waiting for that I order I also ordered a custom wig.

The modified standard wig arrived as scheduled before the custom wig. It was
      1. Made out of unpleasantly corse fiber
      2. Gave a messy impression since some strands of hair had been left untrimmed, and were much longer than the rest of the wig
      3. Was completely unmodified, i.e. still the standard length!

The first two points were dissapointing, but the final one was of course crucial. :sweat I contacted RnP and asked them how they would go about rectifying the situation. "Send the wig back, and we'll fix it", was the answer. Fine, I thought. How would I be reimbursed for the shipping? "You won't", was the surprising answer - "if you want a correction of the wig, you pay shipping". I politely pointed out that I didn't want a correction, I only wanted the wig I had ordered. They would not budge from their "policy" of never reimbursing return shipping, however.

At that time I got the second round of approval photos of the custom order wig - ordered to be in size 7/8, and to be a sleek wig with hair reaching the mid back of a 60 cm doll. The approval photos were not very good, but clear enough for me to see that the wig was both too long and not at all sleek. I answered and pointed this out, and asked for corrections and better photos. I didn't hear anything from RnP about this, instead the wig arrived in my mail box a few days after that! When I queried RnP about this, they claimed that they had "moved offices and had been out of touch with their e-mail" Yeah...right.

The custom wig turned out to be:
      1. Made of the same nasty corse fiber
      2. reached the buttocks of a 60 cm doll
      3. was not sleek but very fluffy
      4. was not in 7/8 size but 9/10 size!

When I politely told RnP of my utter dissapointement with both wigs, they offered a discount on the next wig I ordered from them as compensation. As if I will ever in a million years buy anything whatsoever from them ever again! :barf

    7. I got two wigs from them very recently after some e-mail to-ing and fro-ing where they seemed really nice and communicative.

The styling is as pictured on the website. The colors I requested were the colors I received. There were a few stray hairs which were easily snipped. The wigs seem to be similar in quality to the Luts wig my Cutie Delf came with, right down to an almost identical - er - haircap (the part that sits on the head).

Obviously the proof will be in the wearing, but right now I'm quite happy with these wigs.

    8. My friend and I have four of their wigs.

Two of them were ordered from their range of models. On both wigs there is severe hair loss and all over the wig caps short hairs stick out, like the hair was not properly sewn onto the cap.

Color and quality of the fibre was good though.

On the two custom wig orders we went exactly through Quiet Queen's ordeal. The wigs had little to do with what we ordered (and it's not just the result of a different interpretation of the description, pictures and drawings we sent - they were different wigs altogether, and they were uncut too). No final approval pictures were sent before shipping either.
Plus the wig cap problems I mentioned before.

When it came to making up for this they were uncooperative to say the least. We live in Europe, so recompensation for shipping IS an issue.
After long weeks of discussion they redid one of the custom wigs, with similar bad results.
So we didn't bother try with the second custom wig.
In the end they offered us a small bonus for a future order, but quite frankly, there will be no future order for us, sorry.

We think of it as our *wig trauma* :mwahaha

    9. I had my up's and downs with them
First time I ordered from them was with the whole cotin fiasco (Long story on that one, half of it I can't remember)

2nd I did order wigs from them after them after
I bought one wig for my Msd but got an SD wig instead but that worked out since I was getting my El and the wig came just the way I wanted it. The hair fiber was soft and the wig looked great and I loved how they did the Blonde/Blue. Maybe I was lucky since it was simple. you can see just a little bit of the cap it doesn’t bother me much. I had the wig for over a year and it still looks great a bit of stray hairs but that becuase it's loved.

3rd time went a little bit different. I ordered two Msd wigs but I got 1 SD instead, that was my fault I think, I'm not sure. We kept the SD wig knowing it would get used and just ordered a 2nd one same style and color for Msd sized.
But the one wig I had bought for my Msd was horrible looking, nothing like the picture the cut was bad and it was too thick, I didn't complain about the wig though. My friend tried to fix it but I love my boys leeke wig to much now XD

4th time I had ordered a wig for my friend the wig is just the way she wanted it, she loves using it very soft and super thick so no probs on that one

5th Right now I'm getting a new wig for my El from them, I'll see how it goes.

    10. Oh, the wig IS beautiful. Nice color mix and all. Soft fiber.

But they just don't understand your directions when you order a custom wig (on the first wig the made me, they used the highlight color as the main color - I told them, and they said "We can make the wig once more for you. But we cannot make it again more than once." It was THEIR mistake! :?).

I received the wig today - AFTER 3 MONTHS WAIT! - only to find it is SD sized, not MSD sized like I asked them! :x

I will N-E-V-E-R order from Reve en poupée again!
