1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. When you buy Dolls .. what do you care for the most ?

      1. To have a bigger family and care for the prices so you can get big family?

      - or -

      2. To get the dolls you like the most without putting the family size as priority or caring for the price?

      and why?

    2. For me, I just care about the dolls I like. I never really consider having only one or two doll an issue. IT's My Collection. I can have as few as I like and as much as I want (it's more like as much as I can Afford :XD:) It's no one else business. Beside what's the point of having a big family of dolls I don't really care about or like. It's sound like giving a child a bunch of toys he don't like or giving just one that he Love.

    3. Resin dolls (even less expensive ones) cost too much to just buy random ones. I only buy dolls I love and like many here, I save until I can afford the ones I want.

    4. Even if I was wealthy and didn't have to be concerned with costs - I'd still be focused on owning just dolls that I really adored. I hate clutter and don't keep things that I'm not really into. If anything, I'd be concerned about keeping my doll family small rather than expanding it.

    5. For me, number isn't really what matters. As long as I am content and able to enjoy the ones that I have because they are what I really want, I don't mind how many dolls I have.

    6. All the dolls I own I love! The problem is I love a lot of dolls :) I don't think having a lot of dolls excludes buying the ones you love. Even though I've sold a few over the years I loved them at one time.

    7. I'm with Chehime. I get what I like, but I like a lot, so I have a middling amount now, and when circumstances are right again I'll have another explosion in numbers. The size of your collection has nothing to do with how much you like what you've got. I didn't go for lower prices in order to get what I've got, either, regardless of the size of my collection. Paying lower prices for something you don't especially want is just wasting money, IMO. Honestly, it's not very common at all from what I've seen of this hobby for people to compromise on what they want just to get a larger number of dolls.

    8. Although I went for option 2, I still ended up with a lot of dolls. I went for the ones I really wanted regardless of price, but for the first few years I was in this hobby I had a lot of money that I could spend on dolls. So I ended up with a lot of dolls.
Because of that I now have to be very selective with what I buy and I can no longer simply buy every doll I can afford left and right, simply because I just don't have the space for a lot of new dolls. :sweat

    9. Number of dolls isn't even something I think about (I have to really think to figure out how many I even own, not because I have so many I can't remember but because I don't count), but I'm another one who's running out of space...mostly for SDs (that will change when I get a few I have sitting around up on the mp, but I still don't have a lot to spare, and I think I've hit my SD sanity quota anyway).

I have been buying dolls I like, and who fit my idea of characters regardless of price. I am just lucky that those dolls aren't usually the super-hard-to-get or expensive ones. When I first started in this hobby I had a select list of characters I wanted as dolls. That list changed very little, mostly due to more sculpts becoming available and my feelings towards characters changing. Right now I am one doll away from having them all...plus some lol.

    10. Haha I don't have the space for unlimited dolls, so I *have* to only buy the ones I really love, and will fit in :)

    11. Believe me, go for the dolls you like the most...

... the size of your family will increase ANYWAY... and fast enough!!!

I only wanted one and now I have over 20. *_*

    12. I just get the dolls I like, although price is a big consideration for me. I'm lucky in that way though since I adore BBB and RS dolls.

    13. I get the dolls I like- which is lots of dolls XD I didn't originally plan numbers, and I still don't plan for how many I'm eventually going to own. I just buy the ones that I like, when they're available, and when I've got the money, and sometimes I sell the ones I don't love so much anymore- it's all part of the hobby to me. There'd be absolutely no point in owning a ton of dolls I didn't love- but I would love to own a ton of dolls I adored ^_^

    14. Well I get the dolls I like most but luckily my tastes are cheap as I really like RS dolls >>

    15. I'd rather have only a couple of dolls that get attention versus a large quantity of dolls that I can't afford to give attention to since I am not into role playing or creating extensive story lines like many enjoy doing here. And besides that being a personal preference, I don't have a lot of space and many of my dolls end up 'rotating' in and out of boxes; having more would just mean less screen time for my crew. *_*

    16. I'd be really surprised if people just bought as many as they could just to have a large number of them. As many others have said, it's a bit too expensive to just buy tons of dolls just to have a lot and not really care about most of them. I've only had one doll, my first, for about 3 years now. I could only afford one and I never really clicked with any other dolls, besides. Now I have two more on the way, that I really couldn't afford but bought anyway cuz I love them so much. Who knows when/if I'll get another doll. It's not something I concern myself with. It's not pokemon. You don't need every sculpt from every company. Why get ones you don't care about?

    17. For me, it's actually a little of both. I have a cast of characters that I want to shell, and as such would like to have them all in dolly form. However, I'm not going to fork out a lot of money for a doll unless it's exactly what I want for that particular character. So I do want a large family (The entire cast, if I'm being honest, but I'd settle with the five leading men and two leading ladies of one story and the main characters of the other - 3 boys, 3 girls) but at the same time I'm not just going to buy the first doll that comes along when the characters in my mind are so -specific-.

Unless, of course, a doll comes along with a pony for a butt. Then I have to get it. >_> -looks at her three centaurs-

    18. I tend to go for sculpts that truly appeal to me and look like the characters I want them to represent. Right now we have three, but I've wanted a Delf Bory for ages and my little girl has been scouring company websites for a big boy who looks like Sebastian from "Black Butler". Sooo the family is growing away!

    19. Personally, I think it's a mix of both. I want to get the dolls I like, but at the same time, price is a factor for me. A good part of that is because I have no job, and saving up from gas money or spare change takes a long time. If I had a job where something around $500 wasn't as big of an issue, overall, then I might go for the more pricier dolls, but until then, I'm equally content with less expensive dolls.

    20. I prefer dolls that I like, and I really don't care about price - they cost almoust the same. But I don't need a lot of them. And I don't have too much place for them unfortunately
