1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever realized how your doll is/could be a twin?

Apr 29, 2015

    1. If you think about because there are people from all over the world who has the same doll (same face/sculpt) as yours. I was having a discussion with my friend at school about it and I never really thought about it:XD: just wondering about you guys

    2. Not really? All of my current dolls have custom faceups either by me or a commissionable artist, and I choose their wig, eyes and style, so the chances of another doll just like mine are pretty slim unless somebody was deliberately copying them. I did once have a full set doll, and I'm sure he had "twins" out there.

    3. Twins, clones, whatever. Certainly. I even have twin Ashas.

    4. I think it's great fun! The Volks Sumika near where I live has a bunch of Kun/F22s stashed around the shop and I get a big kick out of finding them. Seeing the same sculpt with so many different styles/wigs/eyes/bodies etc really makes it clear how individual each doll actually is.

So even though our dolls may have "twins" out there, they aren't exactly the same. :D

    5. that is very true!:)

    6. That would be so weird! Especially if somehow they got a very similar faceup. What if one day you went to a convention or a meetup and saw your doll's twin!? I think I would have to go up to them and become friends so our twins separated at birth could get to know each other.

    7. I have a couple full set dolls so there are probably twins somewhere. It would be neat to see them.

    8. Haha yeah I think I would too:XD:

    9. Somewhere on Flickr I saw a PKF Mio who was styled very much like my Paisley - same style of dark wig, green eyes, also with default faceup. This was after I'd had Paisley a couple of months, and the pics were from about six months earlier. I thought it was kind of funny - someone has the same sense of style I have. :)

    10. Funny:lol:yes it does happen a lot where you admire someone else style that's basically like yours!

    11. Is it bad that I am sort of hoping this happens one day?? hahah I really love twins so much. Maybe I should just get two of the same doll eventually and have twins

    12. That reminds me of a fun shoot I got to do at a Summer meet last year. I met a girl who brought her LT Resinsoul Song with her, we met cause she had seen my boy so we decided to take some pictures. Their names even have the same first letter. My boy the pale one is Avalon, her boy is Archer.

First time I had ever seen another Song up close. He was such a cutie.

    13. I have twins in my collection ^-^

    14. I wouldn't mind having a 'twin' to my doll somewhere. It's even very likely since I usually purchase the default face-up on my dolls.

I've thought about purchasing twins before but decided against it in the end. I would probably be picking favorites anyway...

    15. I'm sure there are dolls out there who are very similar to mine, especially the more popular sculpts. I have twins in my collection (just my Yeonho's now, I used to have more of them though) and several doubles that aren't twins or even related. I happen to love owning more than one of the sculpts I like the most. That's how versatile these sculpts can be, some of them look nothing alike :)

    16. Two of my dolls are twin characters, so I have that right at my house. ;)

As for accidental twins someone else owns, I'm sure that my dolls have some out there. I have mostly pretty popular sculpts, so odds are someone out there has similar taste.

    17. I totally have! so thats why I liked limited dolls for awhile... but with the whole customization part the hobby it's REALLY unlikely they would be super similar besides the sculpt

    18. I think it would be very cool! I would want to know what kind of character a different person gave to the same doll(s) as me. Also, despite all of the customization in this hobby, there are other people out there with the same ideas as me, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a doll(s) that looks very very similar to my doll(s). I never really thought about it, but now that it's been brought to my attention, I will forever be curious.
