1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Has anyone ever rebought a doll or doll items that they parted with; if yes what influenced your choice in rebuying?

    2. Yes lol
It was Fairyland Feeple60 Cygne. I had her in natural resin and company faceup. But I didn't feel inspired to ever make her clothes. So off she went to a better home. But then I saw her on DDE but this time in tan and blank. And I love her so much more now! I like painting my own dolls. And I love tan dolls too!

    3. Funny enough yes. several years ago I bought a volks Charlotte. She was very beautiful but it didn't work for a character I had. I ended up selling her. A few years ago I spotted her again and again she was looking beautiful and I tried again and in the end it didn't work out again.

I know it's not quite the same thing but still. I also did the above with a KDoll head.

I did sell a doll in normal skin only to buy her in tan as I wasn't loving the normal skin but tan seemed to have a different beauty to it and fit her character much better.

    4. I was just thinking about rebuying a head I sold last year. I want in different skin tone and that requires another body so I’m not sure yet…

    5. My first sd was a Supiadoll Roda in NS on the v1 body. I decided to trade her and later regretted it, cause I really loved the sculpt but was just frustrated cause I couldn't find clothes that fit her. I have since bought 2 Rodas: one in the old tan the offered with the v1 body and one in ws with the new ballerina body. I also want to get another Roda cause it is my all time favorite sculpt.

    6. Yes! I sold my Luts Bory years ago when I was in the midst of a long hiatus. When I got back into BJDs, I realized I missed having one & my parents ended up surprising me with him for Christmas that year. I actually like the current default Bory face up more than the old one, so that worked out really well!

I also sold a Resinsoul Mei during that same hiatus, then bought one again in 2021, then sold her again recently. I currently have a Resinsoul Ya (Mei with human ears), but I’m not sure if I’m keeping her or not. I’m apparently very indecisive about this sculpt lol.

And the last one I sold during that hiatus that I kind of want back is Fairyland PukiPuki Piki. I sold her because I wanted someone else to enjoy her as I’d had her in her box for years & wasn’t sure if I’d ever come back to the hobby, but man was she super adorable. I’ve been keeping a casual eye out for her over the last couple of years.

    7. I think I've owned Peak's Woods Yeru and Goldie like three separate times. I have an issue ^^;

    8. No really, unless I want to upgrade them in new skin colour. Buying a twin is possible, or a new modified version of it.

    9. Only if I want them in other skin color :)

    10. Yup. I was really into CP sculpts when I first got into the hobby, so when I’d switch out characters there were a finite number of Delf and Feeple70 heads to choose from. I rebought a lot of sculpts I’d moved on to try out with a different personality.

    11. Not exactly, as I don't sell things.

But, there has been a few occasions, where I have looked at and debated an instock doll. I couldn't decide so I didn't get them, and they got sold to other people while I was still debating buying the doll in my head. I don't usually hit that buy button right away.

Then the new owners eventually put that very same doll up for sale. I know it was that same doll talking about time frame and place of purchase with seller. Then I bought the dolls. On one occasion, I just didn't hit the buy button before the other person, but after getting the doll home they changed their mind immediately, I paid full price to the seller second hand because of how new the doll was.

    12. Yes, the only dolls I ever regretted selling was my Pipos bebe cheshire and snow charlotte. Fortunately there were a few snow charlottes on the 2nd hand market so was able to rebuy her. I still want the bebe cheshire but don't have huge hope for it as there was only 10 put out on the international market. I've learned my lesson to never sell any of my Pipos kitties! :sweat

    13. There's one occasion that comes to mind where I had this happen.

I originally ordered an Impldoll Azalea in their NS resin for a specific OC. Upon receiving her, though... I realized she didn't work for that character—but did work for another. Problem was, the resin color of that Azalea wasn't going to work.

In the end I sold the NS Azalea, and then reordered her in a custom color.:kitty2

    14. I sold off one of my first dolls and then immediately regretted it because I loved his character so much and missed him. And as I was creating a concept for a new doll I realized the new doll would do great attached to that previous character's story. And then at that point it was more than just missing the character, now I had more reason to buy him again. So now I have him, and he's a tan doll now instead of normal skin, and I like him a lot better now.

    15. That's a good point, I remember now that I also sold/rebought a doll because I needed it in a different colour. I had bought a doll because of 'pretty' and when it arrived and saw it in person, I realised that it would be a great sculpt for a character i've been wanting to make a doll of ever since I started the hobby. (I had attempted to shell that character at least 3 times but hadn't been 100% happy with the result as none of the sculpts were quite right.) But the doll needed to be in a different colour with a different face up. So I sold the first doll to free up funds for the replacement doll.
Looking through the replies it seems that 'needed it in a different colour' is a pretty common reason to sell/rebuy a doll! :XD:

    16. Yes!

I sold my ResinSoul Mi because the story she was in sort of fizzled out and she didn't fit with the new crew. Then things grew and changed and I really missed her, so I found a way to work her back in, rebought her, and she's stillwith me!

I did the same with a Zaoll Luv, but I have now sold her for the second time. Will I regret it and rebuy a third time? It's...possible....but I think I'd put a different character in her next time around.

    17. One of the first BJDs I bought was a Resinsoul Mei in white skin. I was very new to BJDs and didn't know yet what I would actually like. The doll was in stock at Denver Doll, and the only one in stock was white skin. I had her for about a year, but after buying other dolls I realized I really did not like the white skin color. So I sold her. But skipping ahead 8 years I still really wanted Mei , and this time I got her in light tan (she was also in stock at Denver Doll). I love her and am so glad she's back.

    18. Yes!

I sold my Soom Beryl (original release) quite quickly after getting her. Then I regretted having never tried to do her faceup. She was my fourth doll and I got her with company faceup.
So I bought her a second time (on auction >_<) some years later. Then I was intimidated by her sculpt again and never found the guts to paint her :doh
I sold her a second time. Finally someone asked me a faceup commission on a Soom Beryl and I was able to paint her, ahaha! But each time I see a Beryl on sale, I'm tempted (especially when Soom released her in grey or purple-grey, I'm not sure of the color)

    19. Not only have I bought the same sculpts again, I have bought back the literal doll I used to own multiple times. :XD: Three of my dolls are ones that I sold years ago- two of them I had sold to a friend, and later adopted them back. :aheartbea The third one I bought pretty early into my collection and sold, later regretting it, but she was incredibly rare and I never saw another for sale. After like 10 years I decided to track down the current owner via feedback threads and politely ask if they were interested in parting with her. They said yes! Hehe :chibi

    20. I would if I could. My style has changed multiple times over the years and I sold a lot of doll stuff, but now I went full circle on certain styles and items :sweat There is a list of shoes, accessories, and two dolls I would love to repurchase, but no luck in seeing them for sale.
