It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Horror in the bathroom? (mature only)

Dec 14, 2012

    1. Hey everybody

I take my BJDs to the bathroom with me when I have to "do my business"-- so to say. A couple weeks ago though, I left my girl posed on the sink and was wrapping up but as I flushed, she fell into the toilet. I thought I was going to DIE. I was so worried that I just reached in and pulled her out of the water as fast as I could. Fortunately, there was no damage to the body/doll herself but her face-up and her clothes were ruined. In addition, her wig also happened to get flushed down the toilet and it took me HOURS of cleaning to just start to even get the scent off of her. :...(

I have a friend who also collects BJDs and I told her what happened and she thought it was really odd that I take my BJDs to the bathroom with me. I mean, I guess I just thought it was natural because I like to have something that occupies my mind when I'm sitting on the toilet and BJDs just usually happen to be what's up for me.

So I guess I was wondering, is it just me or have any of you taken your dolls to the bathroom with you too? Have you ever had any horror stories of BJDs in the bathroom? Do you think it's acceptable to take BJDs into the bathroom/ would you take them into the bathroom? Please share! :)

    2. Nope l don't take my girls into the bathroom with me. I do take books or the junk mail etc to read when l'm doing what l need to do etc.

    3. I once took my girl in with me to scrub a stain off her hand and just left her on the sink whilst I did my business. I don't really do so since for me dolls plus water equals danger will robinson as my mother would say.

    4. I don't like to take ANYTHING with me into the bathroom. If that means taking my cell phone out of a pocket or what have you and taking all my jewelry off, that's what I do whenever possible. But I have severe OCD issues, so... I probably shouldn't even have read your horror story.

So yeah. My dolls have never been in the bathroom. If they need cleaning, then the kitchen sink is where I do that. (well, plus, all my dolls right now are boys, so I probably wouldn't bring them in anyway)

    5. I don't take very long in the bathroom but I wouldn't take a BJD in with me.

I mean I can't even touch the handles in a public bathroom so I wouldn't be happy with the idea of transferring germs etc to the doll.

    6. I brought Icarus with me to the restroom when I had him out and about at Con, but I set him down very close to my feet so he wasn't in any danger of falling or getting snatched.

    7. I don't take mine into the bathroom, probably because I'm afraid of something like what you described happening. Because it's me, the one time I take a doll into the bathroom..that will happen1 ;) So, I just avoid it altogether. That, and my bathroom is usually kind of a nasty mess, and I don't want to get germs all over the doll or risk any kind of staining from whatever is on my counter/floor/etc.

    8. I think I've cleaned dolls in the bathroom sink, but I prefer the kitchen sink because then I can use the drying rack.

Never taken them in there whilst I'm doing my thang, we have books and mags in there for that. I dunno, I know urea itself is more sterile than say, the bathroom handle, but I still don't want minute traces of urea and fecal matter on my dolls.

You do realise that toilets spray said minute drops of fecal matter and urea when you flush?

    9. Heh... well of course--right into the toilet! I shouldn't laugh, but that's just the big fear when you have stuff around toilets, isn't it--that it'll fall in! *_*

No, I do not take my bjds into the bathroom with me. I would sorta be concerned about transferring germs, etc.... since, as adhara says above, there are all sorts of studies about how flushing sprays stuff everywhere in bathrooms (like onto toothbrushes!!! Hmmm... maybe I should be a little more concerned about that!!!).

    10. Nope, I've never taken my dolls with me to the bathroom. I use a large metal basin to clean my dolls so I've never cleaned them in a sink either, but that's mostly 'cause the sinks in my house all have some sort of temperature issue with them and not because I'm afraid they'll end up in the toilet from the sink. ^^;

    11. I really hope you changed the string in her. It'll be soaked and have absorbed all sorts of nasty things.

I would never take my doll into the toilet. I have taken heads to the sink to clean them but only on the odd occasion.

    12. Hi mireimi,

It's an interesting topic to say the least XD However, discussions of these sorts of personal circumstances and intimations are better suited for a personal blog or LJ, so I'm just going to lock this one up.

      Best,
      L.
