1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you deal with bad behaviour outside the MP?

Oct 24, 2014

    1. If this isn't a thread that belongs here delete it please)

I've come in contact with members on this site who were, not as you say, the best company.

My method has always been to minimize contact with them and try to enjoy myself on here,

      however it got me thinking,
What is correct forum etiquette for dealing with members who do
bad things where leaving feedback isn't an option.

      EX:

making fun of a doll or another member in the threads
contacting another member to tell them their shop/something else sucks.
contacting via DOA to harass someone for things outside of DOA.
unwanted contacts joining to stalk members.
messages pressuring to sell a doll to them when the doll in question was never for sale
coming to you for a doll sale, drawing up terms to buy a doll, then disappearing without a trace later. or harrasing you if something in the sale doesn't benefit them, like if you wont under declare an item.
      stealing dolls

All these things are not stuff that you can file into a feedback thread, but are things you would want to know about a person before doing buisness or making contact with them.

these are all awkward things I'm that I'm not sure what the appropriate thing to do it when they happen to you.

any thoughts? (try to keep it positive)

    2. Thankfully I've never had to deal with this, but if something like that happened I could contact the moderators and point out/pass on the bad behavior/PMs and let them deal with it.

    3. The "Ignore" function is your friend when it comes to people you'd just rather not deal with.

    4. This is not allowed in the forum, I'd Report the post and have the post removed.

I'd report the PM to the Mods and have them deal with the offending member.

This is harassment and is strictly prohibited on the forum. I'd report it to the Mods.

I would block the sender and report it to the Mods.

This is covered by the MP Rules. You can leave Flaky Feedback if someone agrees to a sale and flakes. Also, retaliatory feedback is not allowed. Again, Mod involvement if the person is threatening negative feedback or harassing you.

A person caught steeling a doll via a forum transaction could lose MP access and could end up forum banned. That would start a Problem Transaction thread and get a post in the Stolen Dolls thread. Also, it would require Mod involvement in carrying out the consequences.

None of these are situations without recourse on the forum. If anyone is dealing with situations like this, you need to bring it to the forum staff, there is no reason to hide it and try to handle it by yourself. We can't mediate the terms of resolving a Problem Transaction, but many of these things break forum rules and carry consequences we can enact.

    5. Report to mods, then put on ignore.

    6. Thanks for the information. Not everything gets covered in the newbie literature and it's great to know mods are out there being amazing.

    7. I'm not sure what you mean by "newbie literature," but everything you're concerned about is covered, one way or another, in the DoA Rules, Announcements, and FAQs. There's more than enough information there to show us all, newbies or old-timers, that the Mods can and should always be consulted if a problem comes up. These sections are all available in the "How to Use DoA" tab at the top of the main forum and the "Using DoA" tab on the longer tab row just above the posting areas. The "Ask the Moderators" forum is also available from the "Using DoA" tab.
