1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you Handle the day before?

Mar 31, 2015

    1. The day before your doll arrives, what do you do? I'm making clothes and constantly check my tracking info today because I'm expecting a Minifee in the mail tomorrow haha!
Do you guys have a certain thing you do before your doll arrives? :XD:

    2. Congratulations on the new arrival!

I like to have at least one new outfit ready. It just doesn't seem right for a new doll to make his/her debut in an outfit someone else has been photographed in twenty times before.

    3. I constantly check tracking the day before/day of too. My most recent doll I was at work the day before/day of and man did it drag on and on. I did order an outfit that was shipped with him so at least he had something to wear out of the box. First doll I bought was naked for a few weeks  and the second one being a girl had to borrow the first ones boy clothes for a while until I made her some dresses.

    4. Day before an arrival I either check tracking more often OR seethe in frustration if the post office didn't deliver the doll for whatever reason and it's the weekend. Gah! Ones I send to my parents' house usually take an extra day while the ones I send to my husband's PO box usually get there earlier! Go figure. I don't usually have anything waiting for the doll as it just makes the anticipation worse for me. I order things for it from the company so that everything arrives all at once.

    5. The day before my doll arrives I obsessively check the tracking :p.. I also make sure I have cash if I have to pay a customs fee. That's about it. The real fun starts when the doll has actually arrived :).

    6. I just went through this today! I stalk the tracking number, and hope that the weather will be nice for face-ups. I have enough extra clothes on hand that I don't worry about having something *just* for the new arrival.

I really didn't have a chance to prepare for my new guy. He was a total impulse purchase and in-stock at MoC to boot. That's going to be part of the fun tonight, I think.

    7. The day before... I check the tracking like a madman... I might craft, play video games and watch movies to distract myself. If it's a regular day I usually have enough work and university as well as friends to distract me too which makes things slightly easier. Otherwise... it's hell.

    8. I think I end up check the tracking more than I check the time. I try to plan my day so I can escape from work and intercept my package.

    9. Lol you guys are so funny, ugh. The struggle is real! xD

    10. I am in my very first extended wait time* and I think I've gotten more anxious since I got my shipping notices. After all, the makers have incentives to not break da goods, and I have incentive, but postal services and customs? It's just another package that can go under the crate full of burnt, oil-dripping engine parts and cast iron Dutch ovens.

I live within reasonable distance of Denver Doll emporium, so my earlier dolls were from instock and picked up there or Junkyspot, which is 2 days in transit to me.

    11. Congrats!!

The day before I usually accept that I won't be getting my doll for TWO more days, because even if we get a package our post office makes us wait until the next day and keeps it on the truck. Very frustrating. I know this sounds silly but I usually clear out a big space on the floor for the opening way in advance and make sure I do everything I can to either get out of work early or get at the post office like ASAP.

Then I abuse the F5 key on the tracking page

    12. I'm actually doing that today! The tracking number is being stalked, like ought-to-get-a-restraining-order level stalking. I just hope she gets delivered when someone's home, because I work half of tomorrow. Otherwise I'll pick her up Thursday ;_;

    13. I tidy up and make sure that my current dolls are all set up how I want them to be before the new arrival heads in to sit with them. That and like everyone else has said I check on the tracking number so much that I begin to irritate myself!

    14. I... obsess. xD; I check tracking a thousand times. Prepare a space to take box opening pics. Make sure I have a temporary wig/eyes/clothes for them. Try to settle on a style for them..
I get so excited omg lol

    15. Oh yes, the constant checking. I also like to ready a spot for them to "live".

    16. When a doll is scheduled to be delivered the next day, I tell myself it will be the day after that. That way if it's not delivered on the expected day, my soul isn't crushed lol. And if it does come on time, it's like a nice surprise.

    17. I obsess as well. The tracking number gets memorized as I reload the page over and over. When I got my first doll I was at work and couldn't wait to get home! I think I barely got the garage door closed before I ran to get the mail! My husband got quite tired of hearing about it although he smiled and nodded while I jabbered on about it. :sweat

    18. I'm a tracking checker too. If I have time, I'll try to make some thing new for them to wear, but other than that I just try to keep myself busy. :)

    19. On the day of I'm checking that tracking # about every half an hour while I am working but the day before I'm not sweating it. You can't move a package through USPS etc any faster by wishing. :P I've only a couple of times had a doll show up early. That was just heads so they were just there in the lock box when I checked the mail for the day and surprised me. I've had lots more by way of dolls and stuff come later than I expect. That does annoy me. I have to schedule my work around stuff like collecting shipments so when I have to reschedule a job or a put off package delivery to work it frustrates me. I get a bit ticked when I do and nothing shows up. I'm like that with anything that disrupts my schedule. I can't stand waiting around for things all day and with the way mail comes around here, never at any set time, you just never know they have come until the tracking updates or you find a box or a delivery person at the door.

    20. Congratulations!before the new doll arrival,I would buy some new wig ,clothes, shoes fit her,so when the new doll arrived,I can make her beautiful at the first time.I can share a good photos with mu friends at once!that make me so happy!
