How small is to small?

Nov 26, 2008

    1. Hi all im having a dilemma, Its kind of eating away at my brain. I bought this tiny off of yahoo japan who is a leeke. I dont mind the Leeke D tiny size and thats what I assumed she was. But later on after she was won I found out shes a Leeke K! Thats 19 cm X.x How small is this, Im terrified i wont be able to bond with something so small, ^my other tiny is 30 cm please give me some advice :o

    2. ^-^ Don't worry. Give it a try. If you still can't bond, then maybe it's time to think of selling her to someone who will love her.

    3. Wouldn't 19cm be 7.5 inches? And 30cm equals 11.8 inches?

I think the 19cm is just about the size of a Volks YoSD, which I did not bond with at all since it was too small. The 30cm doll seems to be MSD-sized and just a little smaller than a 40cm doll, right? I bond with my 44cm boy, even though I didn't like the tiny sizes. It depends on your preference. Have you already seen or played with a smaller doll? Did you like it?

    4. My smallest tinies are four inches tall and I love them, but I have always loved miniatures. They fit perfectly in standard dollhouses and can wear Mattel Kelly clothes. I love my big dolls too, but I play with the tiny ones more. If you decide later that the tiny size is not for you, you can always find her a new home.

    5. I have a 33cm Little Junior that I love to bits. I've also played around with a couple of Yos before and I feel like for me, probably because I like bigger dolls in general, that about that size is the smallest I could go. I got to see a Puki in person and I just felt like I could never handle something that size. I think they're cute, just not for me.

So really, anything smaller than a Yo/equivalent sized tiny is too small for me but if you have a 30cm doll you may find that the 19cm is still within your range.

    6. Yos are around 26cm.

Custom House has a nice little photo (hosted on photobucket):

Ange Ai is around Yo height, and Bisou is 19cm.

    7. The nice thing about the 19cm Bisou size is the abilty to buy them all the yummy Riley things, I am not sure about Leeke K but she might be in that bracket.

    8. I like my 14 cm Elfdoll Kai...I play with tiny dolls more. It all depends on the person I think.

    9. I have lati yellows and they are 16cm.
I have YoSD and they are 26cm.

Your tiny is 19cm so she should be taller but here's a general picture comparison of my 26cm and 16cm, both side by size.

Personally, I like the lati size and the pocket fairy size. But PF is the smallest I will go, Pukis are too small for my liking. Size preference is rather personal, some likes it some doesn't, you have to give her a try first, to be fair. :)

G'luck and congrats for your tiny!

    10. melaid thanks for that comparision pic. Ive seen a yo in person and thought that if i ever got smaller then a lati green it would be yo sized. Before i was on customhouse and while seeing there bisous have really cute faces I wouldnt buy one cause of the size. So i dont know if this will work out X.x If anyone is interested to know shes A Leeke K fullset jiny and may be on the marketplace soon after shes home.

    11. I'd say give the little one a chance. Besides, there are much smaller tinies out there (lati white, puki), so yours isn't a midget or anything. =P Good Luck!

    12. I agree with everyone else. Give it a try and if anything, I am sure she will easily find a new home and you can look for a new girl or boy to call your own.

    13. I have a 12 (or maybe 11, i dont remember) cm boy, an orientdoll Ye, and i really like him. I take him with me, in my handbag when im going on a trip or something. XD My other bjd are almost all the time in my bedroom. Imo its also easier to make a lot of clothes for him, which is fun. ^^;
Well, i guess it depends of the person.

    14. Shes about the same size as Cherishdoll faith size, I have CD Lani and love her size, its really a easier to hold size, not too small to seem fragile or be hard to play with in comparison with some of the really tiny tinies (I had a 10cm girl I was afraid I would break her dressing her at first because she was so small.)

    15. When I got into the doll hobby I could not picture myself with tinies, let alone really small ones. I now have a bunch of them, and adore each and every one! Give your new one a chance, as the size change might take a little getting used to, and don't beat yourself up if you don't end up keeping the doll.

    16. How about 7.8cm!

    17. My first doll arrived and she is a 19cm tall Bisou :) Now I'm dreading the arrival of my MSD and Yo-SD's, as I think I'm a tiny girl through and through! The smaller size has been great for me to get used to the dolls in general, and she is easy to buy clothes and shoes for (check rubyredgalleria out). Not problems at all from my point of view :)

    18. Tinies have their own special characteristics that make them quite different. But it's what makes them so special. I've only just got into tinies but am a total addict now!
They have a cuteness about them which is all doll.
But it would be a dull world if everyone liked the same things :)

    19. the smallest ones are sometimes the cutest but also the hardest to find stuff for

    20. I dont like anything larger than my large Moona 10 inchs and skinny
      Lati yellow ...lovely
my Thistledown ..and Puki ...9CM TO 12 CM MY FAVORITES

      its all personal taste

and I dont find any problems at all finding tiny things ..but I have been collection miniatures for almost all my life :)
