1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How would you feel if there's a doll that look like you?

Jan 23, 2013

    1. Would you be like OMG THAT'S SO CREEPY!:o
      Or
I'll TOTALLY get that doll!! :D
      ?

For me, I would freak out of course xD But if there's a doll that look like someone I know, I'd feel so excited and will show them that doll for sure.

Please tell me about your opinion ;)

    2. My doll wouldn't sell. I wouldn't buy it and I know no one else would either. If I wanna look at plain, I'll go look in the mirror.

    3. I'm with Rynn no one would want to buy my ugly mug nor would I want one that looked like me

    4. Most dolls without wigs look like me. I'm bald.

    5. I don't think I would ever buy a doll that looks like me, but I think it'd be pretty cool if one did

    6. I think I would feel sorry for the poor doll.

    7. I was thinking about this just the other day. If there was a doll that made me do a double-take, "Oh my! That's my face!" I would not buy it personally (why do I need another me?) but guess I'd be flattered if I saw other people buy and enjoy the sculpt. On the other hand, I might also get pretty creeped out depending on what other people did with the doll or how they styled it. o_o

    8. There's a doll that sort of looks like me (as much as a doll ever will) and I bought it the second I found it and it's now my alter ego/mini me xD
I don't find myself to be that attractive, so sometimes I find the sculpts ugly as well. But for some reason I still love it.

    9. Huh. SO NOT INTERESTED in a doll that looks like me!

      I like beautiful dolls! ;)
... not that I'm hideous or anything, but I like dolls that don't really look like a normal person. Many people like to watch beautiful actors and models and artworks of people that are beautiful... These are all real humans, but definitely not average, everyday people (and they are made-up and styled and photographed so that they look even more beautiful). I have nothing against average people. I don't judge them against more ideal lkinds of beauty. --There is beauty in everyone! But that's is often a different thing when it comes to dolls... for ME, anyway.

SOME people DO wish for more realistic dolls that are not typically beautiful... And that is cool, too.

As others have said, dolls are good because they are not something you see everyday. I can easily see myself in the mirror or in photos, so I have absolutely no interest in also seeing me in a doll! ... in fact, I think it might go so far as to me not really wanting a racially Asian-looking doll because I see it enough in RL. Nothing against, mind you, just not a huge wish to own.

If I saw a doll that looked like me-- I think I'd really wonder what the sculptor was thinking! :?

And I would be a bit creeped out. So I wouldn't buy it. :shudder

    10. I'd consider it incredibly funny. (After the freaking out, that is.) And if it weren't too expensive, I'd totally buy it, too. :)

    11. Lol.. seems like many people don' want to look at themselves in mini version. Neither do I.
I totally agree that it would be so creepy. In fact, I found realism dolls creepy. If they're semi-realism then I'm fine with. But the ones that look like real human are just scary. It's like they're alive or something @_@

    12. Goodness, some of you are too down on yourselves! Everyone really IS beautiful in their own way, even if sometimes it is hard to see yourself.

I tend to disagree, I think if you had a doll that looked like your own you shouldn't pass up the opportunity for fun. You could change whatever eyes/paint/hair that you could, wear whatever clothes you wanted at any time. I would be excited at the thought of having a minime! :D

    13. I would be mildly creeped out and fascinated at the same time. I would actually love a little mini-me. There is something about it that has always compelled me to try to find dolls like look like myself. Of course, I would only like it if it came on a mature 60 cm body. Not too big and not too small with plenty of space to have elaborate clothing.

Of course, nobody else would probably like it, but I would love it the same way that Dr Evil loved his mini-me the first time he showed up.

    14. If it was cheap enough, I'd buy it!

    15. I would be surprised as all hell, first off.... I am 42 and I am not a doll-like person. It'd be tempting on general principle. But I don't like girl dolls, so I probably wouldn't buy her anyway.

    16. I'd feel sorry for her owner... I have one of those body-shapes that it's well-nigh-impossible to find clothes for.

    17. I'd be super flattered. I don't think anyone would want my face on their doll, though. :'D

    18. I would feel sorry for the doll for looking like me... I'm not pretty enough to have a doll looking like me. XD
But if I were, I'd probably think it was cool and flattering, but also scary to think that other people might have a tiny version of me in their collection x3

    19. I'd love a doll that looked a bit like me, just so that I could try all the "what might have been" fashions on it. I've got short hair - it'd have long. I'm covered in black and white figurative tattoos - It'd have geometric colour. And things like that.

I think if I was the kind of owner who did photostories and assigned really strong characters to my dolls (Beyond a name and a one or two word brief) I'd probably find the idea of getting a doll of myself creepy - It'd be like inviting a really blatant Mary Sue into my story.

    20. I'd be all like, "you may continue to use my awesome visage, warranting you supply me with one such doll free of charge." XD
