1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

I am beginning to feel like a proper bjd-er

Jul 30, 2015

    1. I re-strung a doll! And this weekend, I will be doing my first face up! Not a big deal to just about everyone on here, I know, but I am slowly taking steps to being more adventurous with these dolls. who knows, I might even end up modding. ;) I just wish I could sew.

    2. I've had bjds since 2004 (ten more years than you), and I have never re-strung a doll! So congratulations! It's wonderful how people can just jump in and do everything! Have fun and good luck! :D

    3. Thank you April! Very excited about doing my first face up but I bet there will be a string of curse words coming from my direction tomorrow!

    4. Ohh, I wish I could restring. If I'm careful I *might* be able to string my tiny (with a lot of cursing as well:)), but my Iple doll... so difficult!

    5. {applause!} Well done!!

      You could learn to sew

Wanting to make stuff for a doll is a good incentive and if you mess up at first... Well, you haven't wasted much fabric, and it's all part of the learning process.

    6. This is a very broad type of post, better suited to Facebook or a personal blog, so I am going to lock this thread.

If you want to learn more about customizing, the Customization and Maintenance subforum has some really informative threads, as well as tutorials. And the Styling and Crafting subforum has the same, but is focused on sewing.
