1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. If not Alice In Wonderland, what story would you like to see sculpts for?

Aug 5, 2014

    1. As imaginative as the Alice In Wonderland characters are, I'm getting a little tired of the theme since it shows up so often throughout the doll industry as a whole. So I was wondering if others felt the same way and if so, what other stories would you like to see as themes in a series of dolls? I don't mean to offend anyone with an Alice doll since I have one myself!

    2. Gormenghast!
There are so many odd and unique characters there. All stylized, with weird proportions and extreme features that compliment their personalities. Any one of them could make an awesome doll.

Who wouldn’t want a depressed old Lord Sepulchrave, or a long necked Irma Prunesquallor, twin doll representing Cora and Clarice, or a Flay complete with creaking knee joints?

    3. I'm a huge fairytale fanatic, so I'd love to see some lesser-known ones recreated in dolls. Donkeyskin, Prunella, The Fox Sister (this one would be so cool because it's Korean), East of the Sun and West of the Moon. I could go on and on, but these in particular could be amazing as dolls! A Donkeyskin fullset, a nine-tailed fox girl, a polar bear king.
I love Alice, but there is so much unexplored content...

    5. The wizard of oz :3 Been loving that since I was little~

    6. I would love it if some of the Slavic fairy tales were done in doll form. A Baba Yaga doll would be epic!

Also a Eros and Psyche story theme would be so romantic for Valentine's. Pretty togas and Butterfly wings. :3

    7. Neil Gaiman's Sandman series without a doubt. If a company ever made the 7 Endless, I would have to buy them all. Yes, even Despair.

    8. James and the Giant Peach. That would make for some ridiculously cute little bug bjds!

A Wrinkle in Time would also be interesting, some strange creatures, some elderly characters, and still have the standard young humans as well.

    9. Omg yes please ^^

    10. Aimerai Doll has some dolls coming out based on the Wizard of Oz.

    11. I would buy the heck out of a Cthulhu doll. I don't know if any other H.P. Lovecraft mythos stuff would work, but I think that would be awesome. I'd love it if it were a Soom monthly style where it has human or fantasy options.

    12. The Little Mermaid

    13. I think characters from classic literature would be cool. Anne of Green Gables and her friends, or the girls from Little Women, or some Jane Austen ladies... though I'm not sure what falls into public domain and what doesn't.

    14. I'm not really a huge fan of Alice, but one thing about that story is it is in the public domain worldwide. That means the doll companies don't need to get permission/worry about lawsuits if they make Alice dolls, but most other things they do, so it's easy to make Alice and co.

That said, most fairytales and myths are also in the public domain and I'd love to see more like that. I can't really pick one I would want as a doll though, most of my favourite stories only have one or two characters.

    15. Raggedy Ann stories have some wonderful sets and artwork. harleyfae

    16. Peter Pan~ The classic Peter Pan complete with skeleton leaf outfits and acorns and thimbles and kites and pirates and mermaids~ And silly little faeries that only have room for one emotion at a time~ X3
I think if they made a Mr Smee doll he would be the most adorable little pirate ever and I wouldn't be able to resist him XD

I know Soom had Captain Jas Hook and the Crocodile, but I'd love to see the rest, too~

...I now need to find a sculpt to be Peter Pan...

    17. Nightmare before Christmas or anything Tim Burton.

    18. Journey to the West. I can't get enough Monkey Kings in my life.

    19. I think my head would explode in happiness if this ever happened. I would love a delirium doll.

Another theme I think would be cool is nursery rhymes like a little Bo peep, the big bad wolf, mother goose, little boy blue and so on.

How cool would that be. And how cool would it be if the tentacles were jointed so you could move them around. It could just be monster themed. Frankenstein, Dracula, swamp thing, Cthulhu, phantom of the opera.

    20. Thirding the Cthulhu/Monsters so hard. I'm really bummed I missed out on the Aileen Dolls Halloween dolls, I'd love to see more monster inspired dolls (bar vampires, sooo many of those ugh)!
