1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    2. Hard to say who I may or may not buy from in the future. I love the aesthetic of many expensive companies, but none of their sculpts made me need to bring them home. But so far, my most expensive doll is a Doll Chateau Mona (still waiting for her), but that's also because I mostly collect MSDs, and now a few YoSDs. Before Mona, it was my Dollmore kid. But who knows what it could be in the future! I'd really love a SoulDoll Shiva.

    3. For me, the biggest hit on my wallet is are Volks, And I have seen their dolls sell for over 2k for limiteds and fullsets.

Next up is Soom, for their fantasy dolls with the extra doll parts, make-up and outfits. Same with some of Ilpehouse Dolls.

    4. Strangely enough, my most expensive dolls are hybrids! Both were LE or discontinued heads that I had to buy secondhand at increased prices, and the bodies were about $500 each, so these two dolls ended up being in the $700-800 range for me.

My most expensive new doll bought straight from the company was my Iplehouse Stella. I think she was around $650? But I also bought shoes and clothes with her, so I may be remembering wrong.

    5. There really isn't any "opinion" involved on which company is most expensive. Whichever company charges the most is the most expensive, that's all there is to it.

Within my own collection, the most expensive single doll would be my MNF Shiwoo; he was purchased blank, with the extra head, and his "new" cost would be $442 before shipping. (I paid a little less for him, as his body was purchased a year earlier than his head, secondhand, and meant to be a hybrid before I decided to use a FL head.) Eventually, I hope to add a couple of F60s (blank, extra head) for $667 each (before shipping), which would make them the most expensive in my collection, but they aren't there yet.

Most of my others are around the $300 range, with a few going for less than that; I mostly have MSDs and Tinies, though both of my SDs were bought secondhand and are very old, and thus also ran in that $300 range.

    6. Volks and fairyland seem to be the most expensive bjd around depending on size and set. Personally though i haven't gotten around to owning either brand of bjd yet. My most expensive was a luts kid delf full set. It seems any full sets can kill a wallet.

    7. Most dolls I own were bought second hand, so I don't think they are fair to include. If I look at the general price they ask, then I have to say that (of the dolls I own) Soom and Iplehouse are the most expensive, followed by Volks.

    8. My most expensive dolls were limited heads found on the MP and put on Fairyland Feeple60 bodies. In general the most expensive to me are the companies that charge the most for a blank doll with or without the company faceup, since I hardly ever get fullsets. So that would definitely qualify Fairyland and Volks out of my own collection, the biggest dolls also being the most expensive. Which brings me to another point; I find tinies relatively expensive, in particular if they're priced higher than some of my big dolls (Lati and FL again). Won't stop me from buying if I really like the doll though ;)

    9. Volks, Fairyland and Soom come to mind.

    10. Soom, Volks, Iplehouse, Luts. Switch can get pretty pricey, too.

    11. I immediately think of: Volks, Soom and Iplehouse. Doll Chateau can also be expensive.

    12. Iplehouse I think and Dollmore.

    13. For me it's Souldoll, Soom and Iplehouse.
If I have to decide according to the quality I got for my money, I'd go with Soom. My only Soom was really expensive but is not well made.

    14. Volks. Although Enchanted Doll makes even Volks look affordable...
Soom & Iplehouse are pricey (not as much as the above). I've not bought from Fairyland but they aren't cheap either.

    15. I'd say Volks first with Iplehouse being a close second.

    16. Volks is probaly the most expensive due to most of the doll being limited fullsets followed by Soom. Fairyland and iplehouse are the expensive for the basic dolls.

    17. For me it's Volks LE on second hand market...I got a head and made a hybrid from same company. It costed me over 1000 $ and plus another 200 $ for his LE outfit... Another two which cost over 700 $ are my SSDF and Class80. But this case I can't say much because they are really big and heavy doll. I agree that "option" goes more expensive than doll alone sometimes.

    18. Yeah, which is why I looked up the dolls original prices. It's not the companies doing that their dolls sell for high prices second hand, so it gives a bit of a scewed perspective.

Volks is generally considered the most expensive company out there, but if you look at IH fullsets and Soom fullsets, they are about the same price, or higher. The only difference is that with Iplehouse and Soom, they have the option to only order parts of the fullset, whereas Volks offers the full package only.

    19. Hard to say which doll company is the most expensive as there are many limited sculpts etc that can be very pricey and some popular sculpts can go for more than their original price on the marketplace (the MNF Juri 2008 head is one). I suppose all BJD's are expensive in one way or another especially when your purse is empty!!!!

    20. Volks, soom, fairyland, however Volks are limited fullsets with eyes, wig, clothes, accessories and shoes and come to think of it, Soom is actually considered more expensive to me because by including all their that it cost quite a lot, sometimes as much as volks and their resin quality is not as great as Volks, I own both Volks and Soom so I would think Soom is expensive if I considered these factors based on my personal experience and opinion.
