1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

JFashion with your dolls!

Dec 2, 2014

    1. (Mods; if this doesn't fit, please delete/move!)
I feel like a lot of people who are into JFashion are also into BJDs, so I thought this would be a fun thread! I seem to remember that not too long ago there was a thread on cosplaying with your dolls, so that got me thinking; if you are interested in Japanese fashion styles, have you ever dressed in said style with your doll? Examples include lolita, fairy kei, etc. If so, would you do it again? Do you think this is a cute idea? Did the style fit the doll or did you have to hunt to find something that looked good? Pictures would be lovely!

    2. I am a Lolita, and a couple of my boys are dressed in a more kodona type of style. However, I don't really know much about other types of Jfashion. I do have one who might be classified as fairy kei? He wears a lot of very bright colors, pink hair and those 'kandy' bracelets. I don't know if the style has a name or simply...bright and colorful. I don't have a girl doll yet, but when I do I'm still unsure if I'll dress her in Lolita with me. Even classic Lolita might not suit her unless it is very over the top as nothing remotely cutesy will work for her (though watch as I'm tempted to stick her in everything pink and cupcake shaped just because I can).

    3. That sounds adorable! I'm a lolita too, I can't wait to get my first resin BJD and dress her up in lolita with me. It would be so fun to take her to meets!

    4. I collect and wear a lot of sweet lolita, but I can honestly say I don't have a lot of interest in dressing my eventual girls in frills! Maybe something more toned-down, like cult party kei, but I'm satisfied enough by my own wardrobe that I don't feel like I'd need a doll-sized collection as well. ^^

    5. I am a lolita, and I got into BJDs though lolita, I own one lolita outfit for my BJDs, I might make/buy another one or two, but I wouldn't get too in it

    6. I wear lolita, but I wouldn't dress up with my dolls. They are so big and heavy. This fashion many times is bordering on impractical by itself, carrying a doll around would only make it worse for me.
And most of the people I know who are into lolita aren't into bjds, and vice-versa. Mixing the two would just mean a lot of hassle for me.

    7. I have an MSD, and I was surprised that even she can be a bit tricky to carry around! I took her to the last anime convention I attended. I need to make her a proper lolita outfit so we can fully coordinate. She was in a lolita-inspired frilly dress, but it was strapless. Most people wouldn't consider that strictly lolita. But my sister and I still got bombarded with photo requests, which was lots of fun. I didn't expect people to go so gaga over lolita clothes and BJDs. I figured you only got attention if you dressed up as a character people recognized!

Next summer, I'm definitely making my doll a chocolate brown and pink lolita dress, to match my brown Infanta Cream Cat salopette. :truffle

    8. I sell fairy kei/pastel goth accessories online so I'm really into those styles. I plan to make my dolls some fairy kei outfits to be my little "mascots" :aheartbea
I wasn't familiar with sewing doll clothing so I'm practicing now to make them really unique designs.

    9. I wear Lolita fashion and some of my dolls do have Lolita outfits but I never dress with any of my dolls. Lolita and dolls are two differents hobbies to me so I try to don't mix them together too much.
I 'm planning a matching outfit with my Littlefee for a contest at a Doll's convention soon, but otherwise I'm not into dressing with my dolls.

    10. Lolita fashion is actually what got me into BJDs, and I almost got a girl doll just to match me. However, lolita clothing is expensive even for dolls, so that's been put on hold for a little while :sweat

    11. Over the winter I dress in a Mori influenced style and my boy dolls match that. However since the summers are so hot I switch to the regional rodeo chic dress. I have one girl doll who matches me in that so I have a little fashion friend for every season.

I make my own clothes for my dolls since no one makes western inspired fashion in the bjd world.

    12. I was in the Lolita fashion and I was always gonna dress Yue up to match me buuuut, it never happened. Nowadays the only doll I have that's into Jfashion is Estellise and she's more a Mori girl (with the occasional foray into steampunk) than a Lolita. So I don't really have the wardrobe to match her yet.

    13. My dolls and I both dress in kimono but I occasionally dress in lolita too. My guys don't because it's not their style. xD

    14. Don't have one of my boy Eien (Iplehouse JID Jerome) and I, but I do have one of me and Candy where I dressed to match him:
