1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Let your imagination go wild and dress your dolls as your favorite chara for fun and great prizes! Dolls will be displayed in a secure room for a day and voted on by your peers. Please register for the contest by May 15th by sending your name, your dolls names and the chara they will be playing to [email protected]

      BJD Photography Contest

      It seems like beyond dressing and modifying our dolls the most popular thing to do with them is to take pictures of them to share with other doll people. However, these photos could also win you great prizes! All you need to do is print them, mount or frame them and enter them in this contest where they will be judged by a panel of professional doll photographers. Prints should be no larger than 8"x10" and need to be mounted on a firm backing. Please register for this contest by May 15th by sending your name and the size of your print to [email protected]

      Come learn how to create jewelry pieces for your doll! This is a hands-on workshop where we will teach you how to take human jewelry, tear it apart and put it back together to create wearable art for your doll. Please bring along some store-bought jewelry (like a pair of dangly earrings from Claire's) that you'd like to turn into doll jewelry. We'll supply the chain, jumprings, and jewelry findings. If you have jewelry pliers or a pair of small pliers, please bring them as well. We will have some but it will be easier if you bring your own to work with.

      • Faceups Panel Lead by Kiriko Moth – Panel Room 1
      • Photo Stage Set-up (Becky) – Panel Room 2

      * 4pm
      • Pattern Drafting (AJ and Judy) - Workshop
      Unfortunately, Super Dollfie owners can't run out to the fabric store and pick up patterns for their doll. Luckily, it's not too difficult to create your own! This class will provide hands on experience creating your own patterns for your doll. We will concentrate on the draping technique (which is molding the fabric around your doll), so please bring your doll along!

      • Photographic Lighting – Panel Room 1
      Photography: Method of recording permanent images by the action of light projected by a lens in a camera onto light-sensitive material. Photography is a lot of things, but first and foremost, it is a way to Capture Light. Natural lighting, artificial lighting, on-camera flash. Bounced light, diffused light, open shade. Low-key lighting, high-key lighting, Rembrandt lighting. Learn what these photographic terms and styles mean, what they look like on “film” and how to apply them to your own ball-joint doll photography.

While hat making can be rather time intensive, it can also be very rewarding and provide the finishing touch.

      * 1pm
      • Relationship Counseling 101 (Liz & Greg Dean) – Main Events Room

      [EDIT] Here's a picture-

      [IMG]

      [EDIT 2] I guess I could include what the email from Tensiya said. :sweat

    17. Hello everyone! I apologize for not replying back to this sooner, but I wasn't expecting Anu to make such a wonderful announcement today. It caught me a little off-guard, so bear with me. :)

      A few weeks ago Anu, from Tensiya, offered us a doll to apologize for not being able to attend Dollectable, and to help with the rising costs the convention was facing. We graciously accepted – not knowing that the doll would end up being this handsome, magnificent Bermann. Anu has asked that we sell him on eBay to help subsidize the convention costs for this year and secure the convention’s future for next year. The profits from the auction will first go to Anu, to repay her costs of sending us this doll. After that, portions of the money will go toward Dollectable’s debt and to bringing guests, like Anu, to the convention next year.

      This year, Dollectable is being dedicated to the memory of the very young, Sarah Schoch. Even though Sarah was a fan of mainly Volks dolls, we think that she believed in the beauty of all ball-jointed dolls. Since Make-A-Wish helped Sarah with her dreams, we would like to thank them by forwarding a portion of this doll’s proceeds, as well as profits from our raffle to Make-A-Wish in Sarah’s name.

      The Bermann will be available for viewing at Dollectable, with the auction end-date coinciding with the dates of Dollectable. Also, the amazing Dollectable edition clothing items that Anu suggested in her email will be included into our raffle items for everyone who attends Dollectable to win. Anu is also sending a special gift to be included in our goodie bags that will be given away to those who have pre-registered and those who would like to register at the door.

      I apologize for not being able to get this information to you with such little time before the convention dates, but it was out of our hands. We weren’t sure what kind of doll or what exactly was going to be sent to us, until this morning. The delay wasn’t intentional.

      Good luck to whoever wins this handsome man, and I hope to see all of you at Dollectable!

      Auction dates will be announced soon. So please stay tuned!
