1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Lovely gestures from the doll companies

Jan 5, 2006

    1. Before I start -- this is the first time I've gotten any packages from any of the doll companies, so this may be perfectly normal to those of you who deal with them regularly. I was really touched, however, so I decided to share.

My dorm office was closed over the new year and only just reopened today, so I ran down to see if any of my packages had arrived. Along with the rest of the mail, I found a lovely New Years' postcard from Luts. Here is the Front and back. The message on the back is very sweet, full of well-wishes for the coming year (my favourite line is towards the end, where it says "we hope that you will spend the cold winter warmly alongside your Luts doll. Thank you ever so much.")

That by itself would have been nice, but when I opened my two parcels I found some sweets courtesy of Leekeworld tucked into the wig and a christmas stocking plus shrimpy things from Dollmore. How lovely of them!

So, there's my part -- who else found nice gestures/little extras from their favourite doll companies this holiday? Let's share our appreciation of them ^^

    2. What a sweet message.

I always enjoy getting little things from the doll companies and other individuals. Every time an order comes from Dollmore, there has always been something different included. Every time a new box comes the feeling is along the lines of "What will it be next? Shrimp Chips? Candy? A Kangaroo?" I love it.

    3. Angelregion sent me an extra pair of boots when I ordered a carrier and wig from them.

      When I ordered an SD13 shirt from Anu/Tensiya, she included two pairs of jeans and an apron. ^^;

I've gotten candy from Leekeworld, free sponges from DOD, and underwear from Luts. And Volks always includes some really nice pamphlets from Dolpas.

5deng sent along some extra clothes with my auction win.

I almost forgot about Custom House.. ^^; they always include something with your orders, be it a monkey, a hat, or a snake.

    4. Sweets came with the wigs I'd ordered from Leekeworld. I love edible gifts. XD

On a slightly OT note, my (Japanese) deputy always packs a little gift along with my auction stuff. Sometimes it's a small book, sometimes it's a keychain or a small toy. Just a few days ago, he sent me a homemade New Year card along with a Hello Kitty toy, and this is a separate and distinct package on his own expense, not sent with any auction-won items. I was very happily surprised. =)

    5. oh yes. I've had this happen to me.

When I ordered some clothes from Dollmore it was before Christmas.
So they told me they were sending me a gift.
Now I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I'd gotten a gift from souldoll which was a hat, so it was no big deal.
But I was shocked to find that they had given me a full size (human) christmas stocking, some snacks and a free pair od sneakers for me doll to be. I was shocked, but pleasantly so.

It definatley left Dollmore pretty high up in my rankings of nice places to do business with in the furture. <3

    6. My one experience with getting doll related packages from Asia is Dollmore, and they sent me an extra shirt that matched the pants I ordered, and a bag of some kind of puffed shrimp snacks. I ate them too, though as I did I thought that I probably wouldn't eat them if I could read the ingredients. XD

I was nicely surprised by the items, but then, I used to buy a lot of anime stuff from Japanese sellers on eBay, and they almost always included something extra too. Cultural difference, I guess? I think I can count the number of times my American bought eBay items came with a free extra on one hand. XD

    7. The post card was very sweet of them. Luts has always put in kleenex/tissues in my packages. :) Apparently this is an Asian business thing that's a gesture to say a little extra thanks for our business.

Dollmore has always been generous with their sweets (butter cream cookies! Yum! :D) and little extra goodies. I got the shrimp things once too, although I gave them to my co-workers (garbage disposals those guys are, honestly) since I don't do fish or seafood in any form even if it's only flavouring. OH, and they sent me postcards of different dolls in my package too!

As for the stocking, I think eveyone who ordered before Xmas got one (I did, mine has a snowman on it.. :) ). Still, a sweet and cute gesture. You seldom find that sort of thing over here in North America... I don't think it happens every time, but most of my orders have had some little gift in them.

Doll company customer service... A-1! :D

    8. lets see... the first time from tensiya i recieved a doggy cap as a gift :D, from dollmore it was shrip cracker [i love those], from leeke it was sweets :D

recently i ordered from doll more and i got a top and bottom plus 2 packets of crackers :D [i told them i was hooked on those :D]

      ah well :D

    9. I've gotten the Leekeworld sweets plus pamphlets and such from DoD. Souldoll once sent my order twice to me by mistake and I got to keep the second set of goodies. :)

    10. Leekeworld always send sweets, from what I've seen. *got some too* ^^
Earlier this week I got a new year's card and a homemade photo-calendar from a seller I bought from on eBay. I found that incredibly sweet.

I really love tiny extras, even if it's just a card, or sweets. It makes things more personal, even if it's something that's included in every package.

    11. Wow, and here I was thinking it was a Christmas/New Year thing! It's so nice that they do things like this - like Loki's mom said, I think it must be cultural. I've certainly never experienced anything like this from UK or US companies.

I do love reading the responses and seeing what everyone got given, though. The people who run these companies are so sweet (and I just received an email saying another package is on its way. Hurrah!)

    12. Mhmm, green eyelashes, pamphlets, rings. <3

    13. yea...i got stuff from Dollmore, Tensiya and Dollsoom. Dollsoom was a free wig, Tensiya was a shirt and pants for my hound i ordered (thank goodness because then he didn't have to go nekkie!) and dollmore was a pair of sneakers and the stocking. Horray for companies making us happy. I'm definitly impressed and will look at ordering from these companies before anywhere else. :)

    14. When I've ordered my two CustomHouse dolls, they send along five or six postcards with beautiful pictures of their dolls printed on them. Even their unique dolls! I have one of Captain Hook! XD; They've also sent along Hershey's Kisses, and with my Uriel, they included an extra outfit for the first 100 people to order him. They're very nice. :3

DoD included some gifts when I ordered my Yen, and way back when DoD sent me a replacement head, they sent a handwritten letter on cute stationary that didn't have the best English, but was awesome anyway!

I've gotten sweets from Leekeworld too. I think it's just the Asian style of doing business.

    15. Custom House sent me extra clothes and the postcards when I ordered a doll from them... just postcards for my other orders... Volks sent the pamphet/catalogue... That's about it since I don't suppose I've been in this hobby long enough to try all the different companies. ;_;

    16. Yes! I received gifts from Iplehouse and Dollmore, just recently - including that wonderful Christmas stocking and a fabulous t-shirt! I was so surprised and pleased! Such nice surprises!

    17. LeeKe Asia sent me spicy lemon ramen and some candies (coffee, prawn and lychee candy!!)
As well, just yesterday Custom House sent me a really pretty desk calendar (about 4 x 8 ) with pictures of all their different Limited and Unique AI.
      It's so nice~~~
I've had both Luts and Custom House send free clothing, and sellers from Yahoo!Japan have included things like FREE Volks wigs and La Parsonal underwear~! XD
      *yayay free panties always help*

    18. Even the smaller-scale sellers will do this....Mio sends sweets, and I've had Y!JA sellers send extra goodies like Volks wings and cute undies. ^^

    19. ah I also got the prawn crisps form Dollmore.. and a wig!!

so happy about the wig gift, I got it for being the first international to order momo I think ^-^

    20. when I ordered an outfit from e-bay (dollmore, I think) I got a christmas stocking and the ever wonderful shrimpy things!

Another e-bay seller sent me a lovely pair of socks for Mikos, too- and I didn;t even spend that much with them!

I think it's a really sweet thing of them to do!
