Manly Minis?

    1. I'm looking for a manly boy in the 15-18yr old range to be Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach. (reference pic - he's the hero guy with the big sword.) But all the mini boys I've looked at are either too girly, too young and plump-cheeked, or too short (yes, I'm looking straight at YOU, Tae:sweat his facesculpt is just the type I'm looking for, but he's simply too short and incompatible with other bodies - and with most mini girls, for that matter.)

      Any recommendations for mini boys who look, well... masculine? Preferably in the 46cm range (well... taller than 43 cm, anyway), with decent posability, and hopefully a basic edition. (I know, I'm asking for a lot.XD)

      Follow-up question if I may - which company carries sword-holding hands for minis?

      :edit: Thank you all so much for the suggestions! In the end I decided to go for a short SD-sized boy - Nobility Lie. at the very least he and Rukia (Angel Fantasy lily) will make great BJD-opedia comparison photos.XD

    2. Well, I dunno about looking just like Ichigo but have you looked at the DOCs from Dream of Dolls? The long leg body would get him up to how tall you'd want him. I think you could even put one of their heads on a Dollzone body if you wanted taller.

    4. OooOooh! I like them new latiboys! Just the right height and musclebuild! Yum! But, wondering, can you put someone else's head on them? Like Narin? Will the skintones match? Both tan and normal? Anybody know?

    14. Unoa head on LatiBlue Boy or Unoa head on Narin Boy? Unoas aren't French-resin and also have the same face-plate system as a Narin-- so the resin match sounds like it would be weird (opaque face and then a slightly translucent, glowing body). It sounds like Lati changed their skin color after the new LatiBlue Girl body, so I haven't seen that yet. But yeah, no face-plate there either.

    15. Unoa head on a Lati boy. Would they match in skintones? I really like Lati's musclebuild (yum!), but I would rather have an unoa head on him. I don't think the BlueLati's head really fit with that body...

    18. I think Mo would be a decent choice... It's hard for me to get past Aernath's Ichigo though ;) (although mini he is most definitely NOT).

      The Domuya Jr. body is a wonderfully manly sculpt, but the faces aren't snarky enough to be Ichigo... and the guys are so LITTLE. But yeah, I can see that new Lati boy... whew! (it is...to drool).

    19. Nobody knows, yet. As I mentioned earlier, they're changing their resin color-- so nobody has gotten a doll in their new resin color yet, since that starts this Saturday. Also mentioned earlier is that you'll need to make some sort of back for the Unoa faceplate, since they have a faceplate system instead of the normal thing. I'm not sure how good it will look either...? The Unoa boys (assuming you're getting one of them boy faceplates) are on the thin side, and the new LatiBlue Boys look like they have wiiiiider faces to look better on the beefier body. Hrm. Sounds like an adventure! :o
