Hello! I’m very interested in one of this artist’s dolls, but I’ve never had such a tiny (human) BJD. I’ve seen unboxings on YT and on her social media and they look very well made, I just wanted to know if any of you has one and can tell me more before I decide, since they are very expensive (but I understand supporting an independent artist).
They're about the size of a barbie so clothing them is pretty simple. Wigs/eyes are...not as simple but if you buy a fullset from her she usually includes at least a set of eyes (and a wig if a full fullset). The current bodies have magnetic hands and feet I believe so easy dressing and they're easy to swap out heads if you have multiples. Her dolls are home cast but of all the artist cast dolls I have, hers are the highest quality. They still have a bit more "delicate" of a feel compared to my dolls cast by the big name casters but that could be due to looser/thinner elastic. They're definitely more on the "realistic" side vs stylized so keep that in mind if you like cohesion and intermingling in your collection. While scale wise they suit with my Tonocha Cup Fairies and Momoni Pitusas they stick out more due to the style. It might not bother you but I notice it in my collection.
Thank you for the info! I don’t have any other dolls of that size, they’re usually not my thing, but hers were just too beautiful so I made an exception! Do you mean delicate looking or should I be more careful when posing? They look like they pose well and since you have some, what do you think?
So I have both an Oscar and the 1/4 girl Berry. Oscar feels "lighter" than my other tinies. My Oscar is older, but I've had and handled newer ones and the newer ones haven't felt as "playable" to me. It's really hard to describe. It's sort of like the difference in feeling between a playline doll and a porcelain doll. Not that her dolls are porcelain and I'm sure they're fine, but the newer resin she uses just feels more "delicate" to me. Like, all of BJDs are more high end art dolls but they're also pretty robust and solid - but hers are definitely more on the "art" end of art doll - in design and in material. Berry has jointed feet and honestly I'm probably letting her go from my collection because I'm afraid to really do anything with her. She doesn't stand independently, and I'm terrified I'm going to break her. She's a doll that need a stand and is more in line with a display piece rather than how I like to experience my dolls (I'm not "playing" with them like a child would but even setting her up for pictures is nerve racking for me).
I see…hmm well that’s good to know, thanks. It’s gonna be a while before I get my doll, but hopefully it’s not too fragile.
