1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Modeling Agency: A 60+cm Disscussion for all Model dolls:

Nov 6, 2008

    1. So recently i fell in love with a Domuya Perrenial Saisha...but upon doing some research i havent found too much information about them or her Model counterparts.

So i want to talk about all the dolls that have been coined to the term of "Model." Any and all of them, from Dollshe's, Soom, Dollmore models...to of course the Domuya Perrenials.

      What attracts them to you?

Do you have difficulty clothing them? (if so have you found solutions? please share!)

Are they (in your opinion) easier or harder to pose/handel?

How do you take pics of them? Is this a bigger challenge since some of them (like Dollshe's) are larger then the average doll set up?

Is it a matter of potential for character growth or just the esthetic's of the dolls themselves that draw you to them?

Let me know! i want to know and want to chat with them. It will be awhile before my girl can come home, so i want to learn as much as i can before she does!! And i am eager to hear what others have to say!!

      Dont be shy!

    2. I'm a little confused about what you mean by "Model" dolls. Only Dollmore and Dolkot specifically call their 70cm doll line their "Model" lines. I think Domuya call their larger girls Flexi-Perennial unless you get the longer leg extensions which they call their "model" pack.

No other company refers to their dolls with that term. Soom doesn't make "Models", they make 65cm Super Gems and 80cm Mecha Angels. And certainly Dollshe would not adopt Dollmore's name system since they sued DM for copying their 70cm boy dolls...:sweat

So is it all dolls over 70cm you want to discuss or all dolls over 65cm or just any doll that's larger than 60cm? ;) If it's to discuss dolls over 65cm, that's most of the new dolls coming out these days.

    3. I just want to talk about the dolls that are geared more towards the fashion end of things. Obviously the dollmore model, domuya perrenials, and even the volks sd16's are geared more towards the thin, lanky "model" esthetic that seems to be sweeping the doll community by storm.

The soom dolls, while not being called "models" (nor the dollshes) still share a similar esthetic, with their long, lean bodies, and muscular facial structure that is not as soft as the average doll out there.

I'm curious to see why people have chosen this new sweeping addiction versus the others. Ideally id love to talk to other perrneial owners but no one seemed interested in the thread when i bumped it earlier this week.

I';m not trying to confuse and am only useing the term "model" as a description.

    4. im personally interested in soom dolls. the girls(dia in particular) not so much for the size or her capabilities, shes just a doll that draws me in. ive seen some beautiful girls in the galleries here that really show you her range from sweet and innocent to fierce and sexy. as well as the ability to flawlessly swap genders... im only attracted to certain soom boys, spinel and sard in particular. in my opinion im amazingly picky with dolls and soom just meets all of my criteria. i dont think ill have problems clothing them as i wouldnt mind alterations or making my own clothes, but i have heard that sooms dolls have larger than normal busts that often dont fit in clothes for similar dolls. as for size... well im kind of worried about that too. im not used to large dolls or anything and over 2 feet seems huge to me, but i hope ill warm up to it fast when shes here :) as for your other questions... i really cant answer them until i save up enough and buy one..

    5. Ah! well i know 70cm+ is too big for me...my domuya girl when she gets here will be my biggiest at 64cm, but she didnt bother me in the least it was kind of odd. XD I see a lot of people atracted to the soom sculpts lately.

    6. I have a Soom Dia Rose Queen, and yes, clothing can be a challenge. Shoes seem to be easy, and since I am a bit of a shoe addict, that's good.

Because I collect fashion dolls, and have for years, I am quite spoiled. I expect to be able to purchase tons of costumes/clothes which are really well made and at not-horrible prices. Can't do that with Bijou (Soom Dia RQ). I have had to make most of her wardrobe, and since pattern drawing is not my forte, it has been a trial! Also, I prefer vintage clothing... so. But it is a good learning experience.

    7. Mmmm, does Flamingomoon's remarks about the difficulty of finding clothes for these dolls apply to the 70cm boys too?
