My AOD Dolly Is Bald >.<

    1. So I got my first bjd about 3 weeks ago now, I finally chose Roa from Angel of Dream, and I checked the tracking number religiously up until the day I got her. Her clothes have finally arrived and she is almost complete. The only problem now is I cant find a wig for her.

      She came with a random wig which I find hideous :ablah:, so I bought her a cheapy fake fur one on ebay which I thought looked pretty nice, but it wont fit her at all and it doesn't have an ounce of elasticity in it. I tried looking for a wig on the actual Angel of Dream website to guarantee the right size for my doll, but there weren't any for my doll's size and everything was sold out.

      Does anyone know of a good place to get wigs for a doll with a 7.2 inch circumference head, or is there any AOD owners who could tell me where they found wigs for their dolls?

      I feel bad because I really want to have Roa hanging out in my dorm room, but I already am a little nervous to keep a doll in my room, and I know people will automatically label her as "creepy" without hair, so having her on display bald is out of the question. AND I REALLY WANT TO KEEP HER OUT IN MY ROOM! I was soo excited to finally get her, and it just seems silly for me to keep taking her out of her box and playing with her, then the second someone knocks on the door I quickly have to put her back in :...( Soo any advice on where I could get a nice wig for an Angel of Dream MSD would be a huge help! She would love some kind of short fluffy doo!

    2. If there's a Claire's Accessories near you, pop in and see what they have in the way of clippy hair extensions. Sometimes they have half-wigs that will sit on top of a ponytail. If you snip off the clips, put it around your doll's head and sew it tight where stitches can't be seen, you'll have some temporary hair :) You can always trim the faux hair and spike it up or fluff it out with styling products, just make sure that they're not oil based, because oil and resin aren't good friends!

    3. Well, any 7/8 wigs will fit them, so you can buy wigs from just about anywhere, really :3

    4. she could probably wear any wig in size 6/7 if it has a stretchy cap, most do. i think 7/8 will be too big.....i know what you mean about the default wig from AOD, i hated mine too!

    5. Depends on the wig manufacturer. I have a 7/8 that's almost too loose, and I hold it on with rubber bands. I would go with 7/8 in the fur wig department. Only 6/7 if it's stretchy.

The first "cheapo" fake fur wig I bought said it was a 7/8 but it wouldn't fit (too small), so its nice to know I picked about the right size and that it was just that particular wig that was a little off! I was scared to buy another 7/8 wig because I didn't know if I was buying the wrong size!

    7. 7/8 should be the right size. ;)

      Sometime you have to pull the fur wig down with slight force to secure the wig..
      Like my fur wig is a bit small for my schulze boy head (it was fitting on my dollmore boy head)... I have to pull it down a like and somehow the fur wig stretch a little to take shape of my boy head over time...

      Now the fur wig seem a bit big for my dollmore boy... but fit for my schulze.. > < hope this help. ;)

    8. I just LOVE Tinybear wigs. My girls won't wear anything else.

      You of course haven't got access to the Marketplace yet but you can also get them at her site The Sleeping Elf. You can either use the order form or send her a PM here. If you like her wigs of course.

      Some of the reasons I like them is that they are so soft and wonderful to touch and because they are actual fur and a natural fiber you can style them in different ways. You can use hair mousse for humans on them.

      But it takes quite a while to get a wig from her and if you like them is really a matter of taste - and perhaps of the style you want for your girl.

      BTW Rao is a wonderful doll. She's on my wishlist too. :)

    9. If you want to go with 7/8 wigs, go with Jpop. They are fantastic and my resin house mates will wear nothing else. :aheartbea

    10. I agree. Jpopdolls.net has some of the best wigs I have EVER come across. They feel like real hair, they're absolutely great, I've had 4 different ones so far and I'm ALWAYS satisfied!

    12. your best/fastest/well priced option is Jpop or Monique Gold. If you like Leeke and need it immediately, DDE sells them in stock. if you don't mind the wait, 7/8 is a popular size and lots of websites will have it available. you can also try the marketplace when you have access.

    15. Wow thank you this is all great advice! Thanks to everyone for giving me a little more direction. These are just the styles I was looking for so I will definitely have to check out jpop and the Tinybear wigs!
