1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

May 15, 2014

      Do you have fantastic ideas for beautiful masquerade pieces, fantastical weapons, and elaborate armor, but lack the means to get them actualized in resin form for your doll?

      Well from May 15th to June 15th, Namonaki Workshop will be holding a BJD Weapon & Prop Design Contest!

      Depending on the number of participants and entries received, there will be up to three winners!

      Each winner will receive their prop sculpted, and then receive a cast of it in resin!

      In addition to that, each winner will also receive a special "Version 1.5" cast of our Mikkel head, only three of which exist in the world.

      Please email all entries to [email protected] and include your:

      - Name

      - Location

      - A short explanation about your design, because we'd love to hear about it!

      Rules:

      - All entries must be submitted to us by June 15th, 11:59pm EST.

      - Only a maximum of 2 designs per participant are allowed.

      - Only 1 design per participant may be a winning design.

      - The design must be a completely original work.
      [e.g. As much as you'd love to give your doll their own unique Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, sorry that's a no-go.]

      - This isn't an art contest and we don't discriminate about genre;
      Please have your 5 year-old brother submit a Lovecraft-inspired BJD prop design to us.
      We are looking for fun and unique things that we think the hobby as a whole would enjoy for their dolls. \o/

      - Anyone in the world can participate!

      Prize Clarification:

      - We'll pay for shipping the prizes to our winners.

      - Winner has the choice of having their prop sculpted for 65~70cm, or 1/4 scale.

      - Cast parts will be yellow or white. We can't cast in transparent resin or very dark colors like black at the moment, sorry. :<;;

      - After the contest, we have the right to continue to sell the prop as a standard item, with full credit to the designer and their contest-winner status prominently displayed on the item's sale page.

    2. Great idea for a contest!

      I have two questions concerning the design of the prop:
      Can the prop consist of several parts, e.g. a helmet a "click-on" visor ?
      Am I getting this right - the prop must be either worn or carried by the doll?

    3. Thanks for your questions!

      Something like a helmet with a click-on visor would be fine; to be honest we're not being especially stringent on that front, so long as the multiple parts don't blatantly become more than one submission bundled together. Extreme example, but your multi-part helmet including a motorcycle would be too much, lol. But something like a helmet with a visor or a sword that splits in two would be fine.

      And 'worn or carried by the doll' is a good way to put exactly what kind of submissions we're most hoping for. \o/

      We greatly look forward to seeing your ideas, should you participate!
