Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. natural face ups or fancy face ups?

Jan 2, 2013

    1. I see lots of amazing face ups, but I just wanted know what kind of face ups do like to have for your bjds. Even though I don't have a bjd I prefer the natural face ups ^_^.

    2. Unless its for the character specifically, it's usually a natural faceup. But I'm a sucker for freckles, beauty marks, and those little red spots (because I have them). I think it gives a unique yet flawed look to them. :3

    3. I usually prefer a natural, but elegant face up. Not too plain. I love seeing elaborate face-ups, but I feel like it limits the doll to the type of clothes and accessories that can go with it...

    4. I prefer natural, unless it would be for a fantasy doll, then fancy! ;)

    5. I love natural face ups most :).

    6. I like 'em all! :D Flashy characters need flashy faceups, earthy characters need earthy faceups.

    7. I think I like fancy faceups more than natural ones. I really love fantasy faceups! Someone here posted a picture of a doll with elaborate purple eyeliner and glitter, and it's one of my favorites.

    8. I think it depends on the doll, I love the natural look for most, but I love how elaborate face-ups look!

    9. I always seem to respond better to natural face ups, but then every so often I see a flashy, fancy one that just takes my breath away. :fangirl:

    10. i kind of like a mix of both, because if a natural faceup is too boring i'm not interested, but if it has something that makes the doll look like it's wearing eyeshadow or lipstick or if it has a tattoo or something, i think those are pretty cool. and fancy face ups can be cool so long as they fit hte character the doll is portraying. :)

    11. I noticed I can love very natural and simple faceups on other dolls, but for me personally they need to be a bit strange or absurd. I do my own faceups and I just enjoy putting a lot of color and oddities in them.
I don't have 'natural' dolls (so to speak) to begin with. All my dolls are either fantasy creatures or generally part of a fantasy world so they don't look like every day people anyway :B

    12. I prefer Natural Face-up, but sometimes fancy would suit the situation.

    13. It depends on the character. I have two Els with very different faceups: one is painted to look as if he's been travelling for a long time and is very dirty and earthy, the other is a glam horrorpunk androgyne with lots of eyeliner and orange lipstick with fancy details. I like both!

    14. I like natural faceups on BJD's who are suppose to childish ans sweet. But I really like fancy and glamorous makeup on mature dolls, fairy, elf, ...
It totally depends on the character ^.-

    15. I prefer natural faceups myself. Perhaps ones that are a bit dramatic bit still natural. Some fantasy faceups are okay, but generally the ones I'm drawn to are still rather natural but with fancy eyebrows or something like that.

    16. Usually natural, though depending on the doll I don't mind a touch of fantasy elements in the face-up of my BJDs :)

    17. I wouldn't really say natural, but more on that side, I guess. I like to go as far as I can without making my dolls look fantasy-ish.
I love glossy pale pink lips, a lot of blush, and a lot of eyeshadow. :D

    18. Mine are all natural, but I am thinking of making a little tough boy with dirt smudges and freckles next.

    19. All of mine except one are quite natural. The last one is a special breed of elf, so she has black swirls on her face.

    20. Al Naturale for me. All the way.
