1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

New notdoll at Luts

Jan 30, 2005

    1. 0.o ... She's neat, but her lips....REALLY aren't my style.

    2. She's interesting...I donno about her lips ether, they're kind of cute in a way but then again there's just something about them I'm not liking at all.

      -Meg

    3. i have to agree with everyone above *laughs* I dont really like the lips either - otherwisse she is pretty cute

    4. I was looking at their web site.The one that really interest me is Angelica,The pictures suggest that she's dead? or in a coffin? what do you think? *_*

      Ernest :grin:

    5. she's too stylized. I don't like her or the other Notdoll.

      Now the carrier, on the other hand... *lusts*

    6. Notdolls remind me too much of scarey European style bisque dolls. Not my style, but the do look beautifully sculpted.

    7. I like most of the NotDoll dolls, and usually when I don't like a certain type of doll I just keep my mouth shut...but her lips make me think of a lamprey ;_____;

      Lampreys are scary.

      ~Megan

    8. the mouth is so fish-like reminds me of a guppy mouth. It is a very strange look especially with the teeth showing. :wink:

    9. There are no words to describe my reaction upon seeing that doll. :oops:

    10. personally, I think Belladonna is gorgeous, lips and all. She looks scary, sure, but to me that's part of the appeal. :oops:

    11. Yeah, I like her too, mainly because she's strange and unusual. I, myself, *am* strange and unusual. (and a cookie to the first movie freak to correctly guess the reference there!)

    12. beetlejuice. Do I win :lol:

    13. You sure *do* win!

      :::extends bag of cookies:::

    15. LOL!!!

      :::showers cookies on Ernest:::

      I was just teasin' ya! :daisy

      I honestly *do* like the new Notdoll gal, though, because of her relative "un-cookie-cutter-like" features--and the closed eye one looks a lot like the photos from "Sleeping Beauty," the book of old photos taken of people and often children in their coffins.

      Lia

    16. I knew you where just teasing, but a promise is a promise :cry: just kidding.
      They are very unusual dolls, I especially like Angelica and the case they come in do look like coffins. :o Tell me about that book you where talking about? :lol:
      Ernest
      123see :wink:

    17. The book is called "Sleeping Beauty: Memorial Photography in America" by Stanley Burns. It's a beautiful photo book and historical look at the custom of memorial or post mortem photography, the photographing of deceased family members in their coffins or with other family members after death. Sadly, the book is now out of print and goes for several hundred to almost $2000 for used copies.

      Burns has also released "A Morning's Work: Medical Photographs from the Burns Archive & Collection, 1843-1939" which you can find in pruint for around $40--it contains more memorial photography as well as other medical photographs.

      Ther're interesting books--sometimes disturbing, but often also very beautiful and touching.

      Lia

    18. You know, I wanted to say that old bisque dolls reminded me of Victorian post mortem baby photos but refrained...I'm glad that I am not the only one. (My mom had one of those bisque dolls with the open-close eyes and the teeth showing...just always creeped me out). I do think that Bella Donna is an exquisite interpretation of that style of doll, all of the NotDolls are, I think.

      But beautiful or not, they still scare me (runs away...)

    19. Thanks Lia,I just ordered a used copy from amazon for $99.95 total.
      Thanks again.
