Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. New School Heads to be released at Dolpa 14.

    1. (cross-posted from my lj ^^)

      There's going to be a "makeup and maintenance class" held at Dolpa 14. In fact, there's going to be two -- one from 10:30am to 11:30am, and one from midday to 1pm. They'll be held by someone from Virginal Art (a Volks associated company) and Valico. (^o^)

      Available to buy if taking part in the class are:
      MSD kit "Margaret" (new model, girl)
      MSD kit "Rock" (new model, boy)
      School Head A
      School Head C (new model)
      SD13 Boy Body
      SD Girl Body

      However you're only allowed to buy ONE thing. So you can't get both MSDs and both School Heads. You can get one head OR one MSD kit. (Although not sure about the bodies.. wouldn't it make sense to let you buy a School Head and a body with it? Anyway.)

      One can only apply to participate in the classes by fax, and one has to tick which class they wish to participate in. (IE the morning or afternoon one.) One also has to tick which part they want to buy.. so you have to decide now, not later. Applications have to be received by November 24th, and if there are more applications than available places (which is a given, really) participants will be chosen by a lottery system.

      I'm not sure if Margaret and Rock are the same head or not, but judging from the pictures that I've seen on my mobile phone, they probably are. (Same way Schulze and Maria were.) They're very cute and intriguing, probably somewhat of a mix between the sweetness of the new Sato F-15 and the slightly more mature look of the new Sato F-17. I'm really looking forward to seeing more pics of them!

      School Head C also looks really nice. From both the colour pics and blank head pics I've seen (small as they are) it seems as though it is somewhat based off School Head A (particularly around the nose, lips and chin) but with a totally modified eye shape. The eyes seem much more rounded in the style of the newest Sato heads. But it seems to have kept that nice deep top eyelid like School A. However that's my impression based off fairly small pics so I could be totally off. ^^; And they say it's designed for "SD girl, SD boy, SD13 girl, and SD13 boy" bodies.. in other words, it's an all-rounder. ^_^

      Volks have released pics on their mobile phone paysite only, not on the main website.. so I've seen them, but can't share them with you. Sorry about that! I really hope they release more pics soon, and on their main website.

    7. It hasn't been released yet - the only photos are available on Volks' mobile phone paysite. Photos aren't available anywhere else right now. We might not be seeing photos for a while yet. =^^=;;

    10. It is exciting, I first saw the flyers in the Shinjuku store when I was there on Wednesday and got SOOO excited reading it! :D

      The mobile site is http://www.volks.co.jp/vs/ -- it requires a credit card to join and there's a monthly fee of I think 315yen or so? I can't remember exactly. But they have a lot of pics there you don't see elsewhere, like one-offs and stuff, so it's pretty cool. (They have pics up of the new clothes coming out at the next clothing fair on the 19th/20th, which is nice 'cause the pics aren't at the website yet either.)
      (I'm assuming you can read the Japanese to sign up.. if not, let me know.)

      It's a brand new head, there are no pics yet except at the mobile website.. and actually, as Volks don't even have pics of the first two school heads up at their website, I'm kinda worried that they won't put it up either. But, when people get it (Dolpa 14, so Dec 25th) I'm sure we'll start to see lots of user pics. :grin:

      Nope, the C head is a brand new head that will be released at Dolpa for the first time, and it is for full sized SD not for MSD. ^^ But they are bringing out the new MSD heads as well. (Well, I think Margaret and Rock are the same head, so I guess only one head, but still, it's new! :grin: ) There are flyers at Volks stores now with a very grainy picture of the C head blank (no makeup) but that's the only pic at Volks stores so far I think. ^^;

      And I'm kind of terrified of what the prices are going to be like. Last I looked the School Head A was going for, what, 40,000yen on Y!JA? That's like more than double, nigh on triple it's original price from Volks. I can only imagine what the C heads will go for. >_<

    14. Seconded. You used to have to budget for at least $600 for a School Head A, and now I've seen some at around $200 and less.

      Rock/Margaret remind me of an MSD-ized version of SDC Arashi! o_O I really like how the mouth is M-shaped like MSD F-10 and F-04 and Toppi. ^_^

      The new Class Limited head C is very nice, too! He is distinctly Volksy but also has a bit of a K-doll feel (or it could just be the egg-shaped head). XD

      I can't wait for the repaints of these to start appearing on websites and Y!JA!
