Nightmare over, Liria and CP Came Through

    1. Hi everyone, I am relatively new to this forum and hate for my first topic to be a rant.But I just feel like I have to vent somewhere.
      I had been saving for quite sometime before I made a choice on my first BJD, because I really wanted an elf girl, so I was really happy when I saw that CP was coming out with an Elf Lishe. It was a bit of a stretch for money but I preordered a LE Lishe from Liria at the end of December, a beauty white. This was to be my first bjd and I was really excited. When the box came inside was a natural skin doll. I was shocked and disapointed to say the least .

      It took a few days of emailing to get Liria to respond. She wrote a few different things between her website and emailing me. But the jist of it was that I should tape it shut and return to sender it and that "she was working with CP on the problem". I had asked her when I would get a replacement, and she never answered that question directly. Every time I emailed her a day went by before she answered because of the time difference. I took it to the post office and was told that return to sender was not an option, because it had been opened, I would have to pay to have it shipped. It cost 64 dollars to ems it back. That was on January 22 I emailed Liria to let her know it was coming again asking about a replacement and she said I would be reimbursed for the shipping but nothing about the replacement.

      That was the last I heard from her. Its been 2 weeks, I am out 800$ through paypal and the US mail. I have emailed her a number of times. I am kicking myself for not keeping the Lishe because she was gorgeous,I was starting to bond with her and I feel like I am not going to get my girll. I don't know how to contact CP directly. I am aware that Liria was on vacation but the LE will be over before she gets back. And also she was contacting me up until I sent the doll back. EMS tells me that someone signed for the doll on the 29th. But I dont know that it got to CP or that it was even in one piece.

      I dont know what to do now, Can anyone help me get in touch with anyone else at CP? Any other ideas besides sit and wait. The longer I wait the less recourse I have with paypal, if I even have any at this point.

    2. If you have checked Liria's site, you will know that she is on holidays at the moment. Please be patient. Neither Liria nor CP is out to rip you off, and I'm sure they will do everything in their power to sort out the problem. Liria gets back on the 21st of February.

    3. Yep, I know she is on vacation, but she was writing me when she was on vacation. I guess I have a few fears:
      That I will miss the LE due to the time situation, that the Lishe did not make it back to CP, so they wont get me a new one, and that I might get offered the regular edition ( I really want the vampire head) . That I will lose my money is on the list, but pretty far down.
      I just wish I could contact someone else at CP.
      Has this happened to any one else?
       
    4. Don't worry!

      This has happened before! If you look on her boards there's a section just for problems with orders--with people who have had similar problems posting on it, and there have been plenty of threads on this board about similar things happening.

      I speak from first-hand experience. I ordered my very first BJD from Liria last November. I was EXTREMELY nervous since it's a lot of money, I was totally inexperienced, I had never had a BJD so I was taking a big leap of faith--I'd never even SEEN one in person and never talked to someone who had one--aside from starting to chat on this forum after I ordered.

      Anyway--Guess what--mine arrived and it was not BW--but regular skin! (Sound familiar?)

      I'm sure I went through the same feelings you had. I wondered if I should just keep him. He was an Elf El and they did not have any more left!!! It was at the end of the limited edition.

      Liria was busy with exams. (Sound a little similar?)

      But--every now and then she actually did respond--so she wasn't totally out of touch.

      I posted on her Problems section that my order was wrong--giving all the information. AND I emailed her. (I recommend you do the same as first steps--although you probably have. It always helps to document the problem as much as possible in case people lose emails...)

      Eventually Liria contacted CP and at first they said they had no more Elf Els, but maybe someone had a problem with their order in the US and I could exchange with them or maybe one of the ones they were holding to make an Art doll would be freed up later. After a few weeks of being in limbo with a doll I wasn't sure was going to be mine or not... Liria contacted me to say that someone in Korea had not picked up an BW Elf El and that I should return mine right away and they'd send it out.

      But--then a friend of mine contacted me. She lived two hours away from me and she had also ordered an Elf El BW, but she got a regular EL (not elf, even!) instead. She told me that Liria said it was OK if I posted my doll to her instead, and she'd return hers... Gah! I'm surprised I didn't get an ulcer! But I trusted my friend and I figured I'd better trust Liria. (Several other friends contacted me and said stuff like that happens sometimes--it's just the problem with language and not being clear and rushing--and CP actually issued a notice apologising--which is also on Liria's site).

      So... eventually--I got my BW, and my friend didn't get a BW, but did get an Elf, at least, and we all got money back for the return shipping. It took a month maybe to sort it all out.

      Just be patient and stay in touch with Liria.

      You won't have any problems with the Elf Lishe since she's limited but not at the end of her run yet. There should be many Elf Lishes left!!! (Unlike Elf Els--who were sold very quickly--and were almost all gone by the time I ordered him.)

      It seems as if CP hasn't entirely straightened out their ordering problems! But they will try and make it right if they can--so don't worry.

      Luts is more reliable since it usually has the dolls in-hand before they sell them--so they know what they have. But they can't always get special orders like BW and they sell out VERY quickly--so it can be hard to get a limited doll from them.

      With Liria--you can pre-order and request BW--which is why I actually did it again this time and got an Elf Lishe! This time my order was correct!!! so they can get it right--and they usually do. Just every now and then there's a mix up. It's more common than it should be, I know! But that's life in the BJD world!

      CP will send out your doll when they get the wrong one back, and they'll send cash back to cover your return shipping. Once this is all sorted out you'll have some war-tales to tell and it'll be OK...

      But right now, I do know how you're feeling!!! (As do a number of other people here who have had similiar problems.)

      Good luck with your order. I'm certain it will be fine--try not to worry too much.

    6. Don't worry .. Liria as said is on holiday so be patient ..
      I know that u will go made,, loosing $800 is not easy .. But you will either get ur doll back or ur money so don't worry ...
      I am sure Liria will work with CP to get u a BW.. They still didn't sell the 68 LE Elf Lishes so don't worry ... :)
      If u weren't able of getting the BW , ask Liria for the Normal skin again ...
       
    7. I guess it's the not knowing that is getting to me, I am not a person who can sit and wait for weeks with no word.
      And I wish I really knew that someone at CP had signed for the returned Lishe . I sit here wondering if some lucky person in Korea got delivered the Lishe by mistake.
      And Luts is selling the Last of the BW on feb 16th. But I guess if all else screws up I can try to buy one from luts in March.
      Just too much for my squirrely brain to handle.
      It is good to know that others have had similar experiences with CP though. Thanks everyone

    9. You should have a priority for a BW, since you ordered first...

      I'm sure they'll do everything in order to get you the right doll.

      You should be able to track your package back to CP if you EMS'd it.

      I definitely know about the sitting around and not knowing part! It drove me crazy when it happened to me.

      But if you've been in contact with Liria and have already been instructed to send your box back--you're more than half-way there!

    10. Well the Lishe came and with no word first, But I am so happy.
      She is so perfect. I got a note later from Liria and a nice apology and explanation so all is forgiven on my end. I feel very high on life right now. I guess -for me- it is very hard to trust that everything will be all right in the end. :grin: :grin: :grin:

      I'm so glad it all worked out and you're happy now.

      It was like that for me, too. It was a nightmare when it was happening (the waiting, the uncertainty, the worrying!!! *_* ). But afterwards--when everything had been worked out--and when I saw that other people with problems also got theirs worked out, I was crazy enough to try again and ordered another doll from Liria--about a month afterwards! And she arrived with no problems (my Elf Lishe BW). So stuff happens sometimes--but not all the time!

Also I would like to apologies for my somewhat harsh reply to your initial post; with your being so concerned I could have worded it better. Thus I'm glad april was able to smooth it over and share her story with you.

      But now inquiring minds want to know: what S/N is your Lishe??

    14. No twigling, you didn't come off as harsh, and i hope I didn't sound to whiny about the whole thing. she is s/n 005. What does that mean? I am still tryiing to pick a name for her. I really like her with no wig- isnt that strange?

    15. I like mine without a wig too, atleast without the default one which doesnt suit her. I'm still trying to settle on a name as well and working on faceup attempt #5 - for some reason I like her face much better when its not painted. I got s/n #0006. Since LE Elf Lishe is a limited run of 68, those 68 are numbered.

      If you want to post pictures, you have to upload them to your own web host, and then put the links of the images between brackets like these: [​IMG].

    16. Heh. It's easy for someone to get panicky over mistakes in orders. Sometimes it's good to have someone there to say--Calm down and get a grip!!! :grin:

      I'm liking my Lishe without a faceup, too... Although I'm going to do something with her sooner or later... I'm itching to try to do one myself, although I'm also on Evenstar's waitlist (just loved the Elf Lishe she recently did). It's just a beautiful sculpt!!!

    17. Oh so the s/n is the number on the run? Thats interesting. are most limited dolls numbered? i only see the number on the box.Is it somewhere on the doll?

      Hey me too. About evenstar, I have not seen many people doing airbrushed faceups on Lishe.
       
    18. The s/n is on the bottom of the foil-card on the outside of the box only. All the limited CP dolls are numbered, I don't know about Volks etc.

    19. I'm not sure about it being the number in line of the run (in order) or not. I received elf Shiwoo #12 near the end of the run and someone got one after I bought mine and was numbered something like 68 (or very near the end). I don't know how the numbering works but each one gets a number. I'm actually glad of his number because 12 is my favourite number. Must be an omen. Love him to bits too. :grin:

      My poor guy doesn't have a faceup on him either. I'm pretty terrible at it so I use his sleeping head as a practice head. I'm actually starting to like him without a face though. He reminds me more of a ghost or something that way (as he's a BW too).

      Anyway, I'm rambling...Congrats on getting Lishe; have fun with her.

    20. They definetely seem to be sending out the numbers quite randomly, but the dolls are numbered - even if it does not reflect in what order they were created or anything like that. Also by the sounds of what they are saying over at eluts, you'd think they were selling the whole 68 of the elf Lishe's, but we know for a fact that some of them are being sold through Liria as well.
