1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Of Piercings and Eyelashes...

Aug 4, 2007

    1. Ah, yes. Tis I again.

I was just curious this time about the various methods for piercing your bjd are? I'm contemplating giving my boy (when he gets here) some earrings, but I don't want to drill a hole in him. Is there a glue I can use on him without fear of it ruining anything on him?

Same thing goes for eyelashes; what glue should I use for them?

Thanks for putting up with my newbie questions :sweat

    2. Super glue, epoxy glue, E4000 glue, gorilla glue, tacky glue, white craft glue... Whatever you can find, and preferably with a small dispensing tip. : )

    3. I'd be very wary of using superglue or epoxy to glue anything onto your doll. Many people have horror stories of having to chip glue off of their dolls' eye sockets because the eyelashes were superglued in.

I know craft and tacky glue are both safe, though.

    4. Gorilla Glue foams when it sets up. You do not want to use it in a place where it will show.

I have heard of installing magnets inside the doll head. There are actually human earing's that stay on with magnets.

I have also seen ear clip type earrings.

    5. I use craft glue, ^_^ it works fine for me and just literally peels off when you want to remove it and it didn't take any face-up off either ^_^.

Even though I've never used superglue on my boy I don't recommend it, it's really tough and would make getting it off really difficult and messy. That is unless of course you want it permenant O.o

And a lot of people use glue as an alternative to dirilling :) So good luck ^^

    6. For eyelashes, I've found that plain elmers craft glue, like kids use on projects, works just fine. That's what I used when putting in my Mir's eyelashes, and it's held ever since. It does take a tad longer to dry though, so you have to have the patience to sit there with a tooth pick and tweezers and hold it there for a few minutes, lol.

    7. 'Kay! Thanks everyone! :)
