1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Older Souldolls - Dit? anyone know anything?

Oct 23, 2005

    1. I've always been kind of attracted to Dit at Souldoll, but never got too attached because I know he's been out of stock for a long time.

I've run several searches and came up with nothing; does anyone know more about him?
Such as...when was he made? Was he a limited run? If so, how many were made?

I'd really appreciate any info anyone might have!

    2. He was one of SoulDoll's very first dolls...I remember seeing him when their site first opened. Other than that I can't really tell you much ^^;; I don't remember anyone on DOA at the time getting him.

    3. If your looking at the one on eBay, I can vouch for the girl that is selling him for a friend. I have known her for about 3 years now. Nice lady. She emailed me about the yellowing on the arms and I told her what to do. She is very capable of lightly sanding him. I am sure you could do it yourself and have no problems with him.

    4. Thanks Karin; I am looking at the one on eBay, and I'm really hoping I can get him.
I doubt the yellowing will bother me, really. I just wanted to find out a little more about the doll in general, because I never bothered to look much up before now.

Any idea how long she's had him?

    5. I thought I'd add that I did win the auction, and Dit Saint just got here today! I'm so excited: he is absolutely adorable. :D

I was really surprised at how different the old Souldoll body is. I'll be taking plenty of pictures of him soon, if anyone's interested in comparing him to their newer dolls.

    6. does ANYONE here own a souldoll ash or dit?? anyone?

    7. I have a Dit Saint. :3
I was very, very lucky and found him on eBay back in October. I love him more than words can say; he has a very strong personality, and a kind of...'life' about him. I could go on for ages about how wonderful he is.

Here's a couple of threads in the Gallery I've posted of Mackie:

      Hope that helps! :daisy:
Are you looking to buy one?

    8. Wow, Dit was a full sized 60cm doll, I had never noticed that before. The old Souldolls have an interesting look, is the body different than the currant models?

      Sera

    9. Yes, the bodies are very different.
The resin is the "french" resin, which they quit using. It's a gorgeous resin, however, some dolls had trouble in yellowing. Why some yellowed and other didn't is any ones guess. And the strange thing was, it was only in some areas that the yellowing occurred. My doll has had none of that...thank goodness.^^

    10. Yes, my Dit is very yellow. His arms, especially. I should try to take some pictures and show the difference in colour between them and the rest of his body, it's insane.

The sculpt is also very different; it's nowhere near as sculpted as the newer boys are. Mackie's legs also lock a little funny. It's strange.

What's great is that I can compare him to Yui, my Tiffee girl, and still see the 'family resemblance.' :)

(oriscany, your Ash is so pretty!! I hadn't seen owner pics before.)

    11. ugh lucky !!!!!
I would love to have one of those *sniff*

    12. I wonder if that's just an affect of the French resin. I've seen some of the Narin dolls who have a french resin if I recall correctly and some of them are very yellow. But it's in a waxy way that's actually REALLY pretty and almost seems to glow.

    13. I have some questions about SoulDoll Dit. I noticed he is on the last page and it out of stock with no price, so I was wondering if he is limited? Or just temporarily out of stock?

    14. DIT is one of the old version dolls- they are discontinued- no longer being produced.

The only way to get one is on the 2nd hand market. I have yet to see one- as they were not very popular as I recall.

    15. Aww, that stinks! D: He's adorable. Oh well. D:

    16. Actually, popularity has nothing to do with it.

Dit was one of Souldoll's first dolls, like Ash and a few others. They were not made on a huge scale, and therefor not many around.

    17. Unfortunately, Dit Saint is incredibly difficult to find. *_*

I lucked up last year and found mine on eBay, but I've yet to ever see another one around. It's sad, because he really is adorable!

Dit's actually quite different from the current Souldoll line, although I keep hoping that perhaps they'll go back and re-release him...:sweat
