It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. One BJD Owners?

Jul 1, 2013

    1. For the last two years I have been able to afford only one BJD because of my job situation and honestly I only have room for maybe one more doll, a female Yo-SD around my Doll Leaves Kiki's size for girl for him. So I wonder if other collectors look down on one doll collectors because we don't have multiple dolls sitting around our rooms?

    2. Honestly I feel like anyone who looks down on collectors with just one doll isn't worth associating with anyway. Everyone starts somewhere in this hobby, and everyone has a different idea of how many dolls they want or need. No one should judge others for things like this that don't affect them, and if they do they're a jerk. :V

      Personally I'm jealous of anyone who can make themselves stop at just one. XD But I feel like I'd have to have at least two or they'd get lonely, you know? XD;;

    3. Absolutely not. One of the prettiest dolls I know is "single owned", this doll get all the attention and the owner puts down all of the money, time and love on it. It's so fun to meet them on meetings. :)

    4. Personally I admire people that have the self control to only buy one doll and pamper it :) I let my collection get too large for me to handle (12 dolls at the peak) and I'm trying to get it down to a more manageable size :)

    5. Not at all! In fact, I was a single doll owner for awhile. There's always exceptions to the rule, but I definitely see more joy being put into that single doll than I do with big families. And at meets, it's always nice knowing I'll always get to see a certain doll. And actually, one of my favorite dress designers to commission owned a single doll for awhile, and her doll is amazing and brimming with beauty.

    6. I definitely don't look down on someone who has just one doll o_o
I couldn't have just one myself, though, although the idea of focusing and developing that one is nice. For one BJD owners, does your doll have multiple styles, or just one? One reason I have many dolls is because I do different looks and styles for each.

    7. I'm also a single doll owner, so nice to know people with big collections don't look at us different. Hey, we all got to start somewhere right? Although I don't know how much longer I will have just one for. There are so many dolls and sculpts I have fallen in love with and want!

    8. I don't look down on single doll owners at all! We all have our number of dolls for different reasons---maybe we have a lot because we wanted to shell a full cast of characters. Maybe we like too many sculpts to pick just one or two. Maybe this is our only hobby, so the majority of our free money goes there.....Then there are the people with just one or two dolls. It could be due to budget, or space, or just feeling completely satisfied with one and not needing or wanting more. Do what makes you happy!

As an owner of 29 full dolls, a body and 2 floating heads, I'm probably on the higher end of doll numbers, but I know people that have more than 70, and people who only have that one or two. Sometimes, I wish I could cut back to fewer dolls, like maybe 10 or less, but I'm too attached. I don't think less of anybody either way. I just enjoy my dolls and don't worry about what other people are doing with theirs. :)

    9. I could care less about the quantity of dolls, the style, size, or anything really.. of other doll owners. You do what you do for a reason. It's not my business and therefor not my place to judge.

    10. I don't feel any differently about the person who owns one doll as I do the person who owns 100. When it comes to BJDs, it's all about the uniqueness of the individual collection. How someone expresses their hobby is entirely up to them.:) This hobby is particularly geared towards individuality...that's part of the beauty of BJDs...and that goes for numbers of dolls as well. One person's perfectly pampered BJD is artistically valued as much as someone else's collection of 20.

    11. I wish I could get down to one, so I'm a bit envious of those who have a single doll. I got my collection down to five but I just couldn't possibly decide between them. XP.

    12. I'll help you get down to one. I do want more. Hahaha!

    13. What everyone else said. It's the "pricey vs. less pricey dolls" thing all over again - we share the same hobby, so why look down on anyone?
I guess if our dolls got a say in the matter they'd all want to be single dolls just to get spoiled even more. ;)

    14. I wish could have stopped at one, I just don't have that kind of control.
Sometimes less really is more. And to be honest, I could do it all again, I
would try to just have one.

    15. I personally kind of envy people who can be happy with just one doll. My collection is large and varied and often I find it very hard to manage it, I get frustrated and burnt out and still want more dolls... If I could only have "just one" I'd be a much calmer person... plus I'd be able to properly spoil the doll unlike I do now where a doll might go for the longest while without me being able to afford them just a second shirt or something of the sort... >.< on the other hand I have too many characters that need their shells and I like exploring different styles and experimenting with things.

    16. There is not reason for that. You have the same passion but not the same economic situation. That´s not an impediment for sharing a hobby. Is selfish and materialist to care about people just for the money they have and the cuantity of possesions.

    17. I don't look down on one doll owners at all. They're still just as much a part of the hobby. And I'm sure their doll gets more attention than a person who has a bunch. ^^

    18. of course not, I don't see why it should matter if you have 1 or 1000 dolls as long as you enjoy them ^^
I currently have only 1 doll and am enjoying her alone while saving for her sisters

    19. To each their own. I don't think there's any reason to look down on a person for this. I started with two right off the bat and then just kept going, but I'll be honest and say I wish my "family" were smaller ;) If people are comfortable with small doll families, or just one doll, then that is great for them, and I am happy for them :)

    20. I definitely do not look down on owners with a single doll! :) There's no reason for them to be looked down on, whether they choose to have only one BJD or just can't afford more than one. As long as the owner is happy, that's all that matters! I wish others would stop looking down on owners with a single doll, because it is seriously wrong :(.
