1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Yeah... :sweat

I don't know how many of you have or are planning to open a separate savings account just so you can set aside money. Money to buy those wonderfully expensive dolls!

I have heard of people opening a separate savings account to save money for something (ie: Hermés Birkin Bag, etc).

But have any of you considered this?

Am I the only person who is strange enough to have an bank account that is dedicated for saving up money to spend on BJDs???

      POLL TIME! :D

    2. I was planning on opening a savings account to save up for a house for when I get married (this comes from my mom and I want to have money aside for a town home or a condo when I get married cause I HATE apartments) and well why not do it for doll puchases as well? It makes sure you don't touch the money as most money in your main checking account ends up being spent on something and then you forget it was for the dolls and then it :( when you realise you spent more money than you should have,

    3. I just transfer money to my Paypal account to save up for my dollies. :)

    4. I just put buying dolls into my budget, but I don't have a separate savings account for them. However, it is a good idea. Barb. (in L.A.)

    5. I think that'd be a good idea! But unfortunately, my parents probably wouldn't let me at the time being, and I can't get much of a job yet, so there wouldn't be much to invest after I spend most of the money I have, so...yeah.

However in the future, yes, I probably will. :)

    6. I might have too XDD Or I'll just keep on paper what goes where. >_> BUT we'll see.

    7. I've considered this just because I have a bad habit of juggling money around when things get tight. At least if I did I could just leave the card at home or something and there would be no question of it increasing instead of decreasing ^^;

    8. I already have a separate checking account for doll purchases, though its really more for any purchase I want to make with Paypal.

Since Paypal gets hacked from time to time and people lose their money on occasion, I decided to keep the majority of my money in a different account with a different bank all together. I keep very little in the account thats tied to Paypal and transfer in however much I need when I have a payment to make.

It keeps most of my money safer. If my Paypal account were to get hacked, the theif would get about $50 on a regular day.

    9. I honestly had never thought of it. I just keep my dolly money in a cup right above my computer and I just keep track of how much more I need. :) It's simple and effective... and surprisingly I haven't spent any of it! *is known not to be a good money saver* When I want to buy I just go to the bank and put the money in the day before I order.

    10. I actually already have. It's my prepaid visa card, I put the money on there and lock it away, so after awhile it collects a fair amount.

    11. I already have one too - I decided to open up a separate savings account for dollfie stuff so that I could keep track of just what I spent.

    12. I do the same as Cheshiretiffy. I just set up Paypal a few weeks ago, and decided to use whatever goes into that for online purchases, with a small % being withdrawn to go towards art materials. (Most will be doll-related) That way I keep my house/bill/spending money separate from doll money. :)

    13. ok
I'm a bit older and so can get more extreme.
I started a time limit CD at the bank. XD

    14. Naw, I don't have one and I don't think I'm going to try and get one. :sweat I'm not a really big spender. At all. This includes not spending any extra money on jewelry, shoes, video games, etc... So I don't feel that I really need to separate my savings like that. Or at least, to that degree. Maybe one savings for necessities and one savings for hobbies/fun/whatnot, but I wouldn't open a specific account/piggy-bank (xD) for doll money.

    15. I basically have a mad money account currently, I use it for my hobbies like dolls, etc. This way, if I sell some doll stuff, unless stuff is tight, it goes back into my mad money account. I set aside a little every month into the account. It's an easy way for me to avoid overspending on dolls. :) :aheartbea

    16. Actually, that's a really good idea, i think I may do that! ;) I used to save up by putting money into my PP account little by little so I can buy a doll or doll stuff, but, that makes me worry about someone hacking into it and stealing from my PP balance. :( I need to start saving up soon, though, because I want to be able to preorder my Unoa in the summer! :D

I have a savings account for emergencies/a house and I try my darndest NOT to touch it.

    17. I have an old account that I've never bothered closing, so I've started to use that for my doll fund. Its hard to get at as the branch is in the next town & I dont drive, so there is less change of me dipping into it. (I'm a terible saver, if I've got it I spend it!)

    18. I never think of that and this gave me a very good idea to save up for my future dolls... I should open an account to save for dolls.. means doll funds... xD HAhaha

    19. well it's not entirely. I opened another account for spending! as i have a savings account already about 2 of those, i needed a current account to make my dollie purchases!

well as i withdrawl from it, i have money set aside anyways to spend so that account has become my dollie account for now...

    20. Opening a seperate savings account is useful. I currently have a seperate account to put all my savings in for my *hopeful* holiday this year. And I did this last year with the same account and it was perfect! I just dug out the card to pay money in..otherwise it sat happily in my wallet unused as I knew what it was for.
