1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Paying off layway sooner?

Apr 11, 2015

    1. Hey guys, another question from me xD

I'm pretty sure thre's an option to pay off layaway earlier if you can or want.

      Would you use this option?
And if this option does not exists, do you want it to?

    2. Yes, because I sometimes like to. I can't always but sometimes I get a little extra work and I like to get myself out of debt a little early, you know? :P

    3. I usually pay my layaways off pretty early, usually by a month or so. Most of the time I start a layaway knowing that I can pay it off early. I can get very impatient about layaway and just want the doll shipped now. This mainly happens when I'm buying second hand or if the doll is already made.

If you're unsure about paying a layaway off early, you should just ask if that's alright with the seller or dealer you're buying from. Most of the time it's perfectly fine.

    4. I do this all the time, because I want my doll ASAP, I feel better when that financial responsibility is lifted, and I know sellers prefer to be paid sooner rather than later. Win-win.

    5. Yes... I often end layaway sooner than scheduled if I'm able xD; I usually can hold off pretty long, especially with most companies since they don't ship their dolls for months and months after you've started the order but sometimes, if I know my doll is waiting there for me then... well... it gets very hard! And I usually just jump to it...

    6. With the layaways that I've done, I was able to pay them off early. I like this option because it's satisfying knowing that I don't owe money anymore and that the doll can finally begin production or be shipped.

    7. I usually choose long layaways just in case something affects my ability to spend a lot at once, but usually I do pay them off early. Especially if the doll is ready, then I just want them home!

    8. I think I've always paid my layaways off early. Often I will ask for a longer layaway (three or four months), but that's just so it won't be an issue should something else come up. But I always message the seller/dealer first to make sure it's alright.

    9. Whether or not I pay off early depends on the layaway. Sometimes I'll do one because I know I can't afford a limited doll right away, but will be able to afford it by the time the layaway ends, and thus will go ahead and put it on a layaway; if circumstances change and I can pay sooner, then in those cases I'll do it.

Other times, I'll put a doll on layaway because I know it's going to take a while (I have one going like that now), and I'll just let it run its normal course. There's no real reason for me to pay any sooner, because the doll will arrive at the dealer when it arrives, and no sooner. So I'm comfortable, for now, to wait, but if it arrives sooner than expected, then I'll certainly pay it off early!

    10. I've done this most of the time. I usually choose layaway as the option even though I have the full amount because extra money is always helpful. If I dont use the extra money I have then I pay the remaining layaway. It's better to have something saved up rather than pay for the whole doll and then have a problem later on with real life.

    11. For me the earlier the better. But I have both pay on the scheduled time and pay the doll off early.

    12. If i choose layaway I try to pay it as soon as possible but it depends on the situation :)
