1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Photo references for violin and viola posing

Feb 22, 2014

    1. Hello there :) I am not sure where to post this, please move it to the appropriate thread anytime!

I have done a little guide for doll posing with violin/viola and would like to share the knowledge to others! It has some tips and explanation about why we do what we do. The second part took me some time because posing for the correct posture is tricky and takes patience.

      Part 1: http://feaydrak.tumblr.com/post/77322942216/reference-posing-with-violin-viola-for-dolls-part
      What we look at:
      1. Parts of the violin/viola and what are the techniques used on each section.
      2. How to hold the bow in the correct way.

      Part 2: http://feaydrak.tumblr.com/post/77399916529/reference-posing-with-violin-viola-for-dolls-part-2
In this part, I expand on the left hand holding position and then continue with showing the pose using Fein (DOD Azera).
      What we look at:
      1. How to hold the neck of the violin with our left hand in the correct position.
      2. The correct standing posture, holding the instrument before and after performance, holding the instrument while waiting for our part.

I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and hope that you have fun with your doll and dolly violin!

    2. KiAN, that's great! I'm just beginning to learn how to play the violin myself and have clumsily attempted to pose my doll and her violin with any degree of realism (without jointed hands -.-°) ... your reference pics are a huge help! Thank you for sharing :D

    3. Ah, that's great that you picked up the violin! Enjoy that beautiful instrument :)
And you're very welcome! I'm happy to hear that it is helping ^^

    4. Cool ref pics.

Hmmm... dunno where this thread should be! Photography?

    5. Thank you :)

Yea, I tried posting at photo reference thread but there is no suitable suffix. The photography section doesn't really fit as well because I'm not focusing on the camera and equipments.
