1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Puki Pukishas!

Oct 19, 2010

    1. I've got some questions about pukishas. :D

I'm considering adding one to my family, but I really don't know much about pukipukis or pukishas at all. XD; I plan to read the pukipuki threads, but I am particularly interested in pukisha, so I thought I'd make my own thread since I don't think there has been one for awhile.

What clothes and wigs fit them apart from what Fairyland offers? Do Fairyland's wigs tend to stain?

I was thinking of making mine a 'travel buddy,' so to speak, since they seem practically pocket/purse-sized (don't worry, I'd make sure she was adequately protected ^^), but I believe their ears + hands + feet are connected by magnets. I'm assuming these are pretty strong magnets, but is there really the risk of one being pulled off, or falling off easily? (Probably a silly question, but I've never had a doll with magnets apart from a tail one, which wasn't very strong.)

I noticed for the cat parts the site recommends acrylic paint. Is there any particular reason for this? Can pastels and other materials not be used?

And lastly, how do you describe your pukisha? To me, it seems like a little cat spirit/cat fairy kind of thing, but I'm curious as to how the rest of you view your pukishas. :D

    2. I share your curiosity about all of the above! I'll be watching this post eagerly.

And even though I don't own a pukisha yet, I see them as... well. More than just little cat people, anyway. More like something special and tiny, like a fae or guardian. :kitty2

    3. Clothing and wigs - look at the PukiPuki threads.

Magnets - strong, but if they get bumped, dropped, or pulled on they will come off easily. Not very likely to happen if secured in a travelling case properly.

Customizing - you can use anything you would on resin. The parts are not made of any different material than the rest of the doll.

Scale - again, you should have gone looking before asking. There are plenty of scale photos out there, especially for Puki.

    4. The feet and hands have little notches in them, so that when they are lined up with the magnets, they don't fall off super easily. The ears, I'm not sure.

    5. Thanks for the responses, especially about the magnets.

Sorry for asking about the scale. I didn't realize I'd find the obvious answer at the top of this forum, even. I was about to head off to bed and scrolled past the sticky.
