Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. Questions about Kanon Louis.

    1. Okay, I just hope there is anyone on this board who can help me. Ever since I've first seen him (back when I was still a n00b) I've been searching for Louis by Kanon. I know they were sold out a long time ago, I believe 2005/early 2006, so I doubt that many people nowadays know about him, but there are some questions I'd like to get an answer to:

      1. Exactly how many were made? If I know this I'll know exactly how hard it will be to find him.
      2. I have never seen him in the marketplace before, so I've no idea how much I should offer for him. Any good ideas? Or is this one of those heads where it's all about how much the buyer is willing to spend?
      3. Does anybody know how to search for him on Y!J? I'd like to see if he pops up on that site too.

      Please, please, please help me, 'cause I'm crazy about this head.

      I know someone has a better answer than this but from what I recall the number was very, very low. Like maybe 10 of Louis (frowny version) and 10 of Yui (smiley version).

      I saw a Louis come up for sale on Y!J about three years ago??? I saved his pictures because those were the images that made me fall in love with the sculpt. If I knew then that I'd never see another one come up for sale I would have pounced and tried to buy him. Unfortunately my computer died and I lost the images and I don't recall how much he sold for. I think Armeleia has the same pictures saved.

      I put up a WTB for Louis in the MP about a year and a half ago and I was almost immediately offered a Yui. I decided I could settle for the smiley version and he's worked out well for me. I've seen Yui heads come up for sale at least 4 time in the last three years but I can't be sure if they were all different heads or the same one bouncing between homes. Yui is less popular so it's not as expensive as Louis. I'd have to look through some files to figure out how much I paid for him. If I find the number I'll PM it to you. ;) I know other people have been wanting this head for years, serious collector types. If it comes up for sale, expect a bidding war. You'll be extremely lucky if there isn't one!

      I know of three other people who own Yui and two that have a Louis.

      3. Does anybody know how to search for him on Y!J? I'd like to see if he pops up on that site too.

      I'm afraid I don't have the answer to this one.

    3. Only ten, huh? Well, that explains why I've never seen him in the MP or on ebay even though I check a lot :sweat. Typical that I have to fall for the impossible. Again. But well, I did find my other dolls too, including my Gomidoll Iru, so perhaps there's a little luck left... Though I have to say that if I came across a Yui instead of a Louis, I wouldn't hesitate and buy him instantly (that is, if I have the money). Kanon's sculpts are all so very pretty!

      I won't mind a bidding war, I already expected it would come to that, I mean, it ís a Louis we're talking about.

    4. Louis is also sometimes spelled "Lui" and "Rui" so you probably want to search on all three (or alternatively just search on "Kanon" and see what pops up). Also, you might want to search on US eBay as well as on Y!J. I found a Kanon Yui on eBay about a year and a half ago. I had no idea what it was but decided it looked kind of neat so I bought it. If a Yui popped up there then a Lui might sometime as well.

    5. Thanks for the additional names of Louis, I didn't know that! I saw the Yui on Ebay you were talking about, but wasn't fast enough to get the money. So you were the one who took her ;).
